So, what did people think of Mara today? He looked pretty good. Best I can remember from him. He doesn’t drive into the box hard enough for crosses but he has a good physical presence and a neat touch.

I wouldn’t want him as main striker but, on this showing, he could do with more minutes?
I thought he did ok and importantly allowed AA to go to AM

This from RM is spot on for me …

"We were too slow in the first half and not enough willingness to run. That's the first time we have played against that shape and we tried to guess. We'll learn a lot from that.

"The mentality when we score is nowhere near good enough, we need to address that. It's ridiculous. We were not happy at all at half-time.

"We started the second half not very well but I enjoyed the last half-hour. We are winning while learning and winning while building.

"If you'd have said 10 points from 12 with all the nonsense going on and all the noise then I'm really pleased with that."

I'm not going to allow myself to get too fond of RM yet, but he is saying all the right things. Our play really was quite lethargic at times yesterday, and the contrast when QPR got the ball, in terms of energy levels (quick bursts of pace, push and go etc), was very noticeable. It took us a minute or two to build up a half-chance, but then just ten seconds for them to create something actually dangerous.

Got the subs spot on too.

I thought he was (and is generally) poor. Often makes bad decisions that lose us the ball. Came on and strolled around without putting in any exertion in stark contrast to Fraser who came on and looked like he wanted to make a case for being in the team.

Seconded. I just don’t see what he offers. He doesn’t have the physical desire to impact championship games imo.

I would be happy to cut our losses in him

Looking at Twitter this morning Leicester fans think they’ve won the league already. Replied to one saying they haven’t even played anyone decent yet, don’t think he liked that :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I can't wait for the team to settle a bit once the window is shut and see a midfield/attack built off of the base of Charles and Flynniesta.

They might be the best midfield duo in the league. Both ooze quality.
Sheabi and Flynniesta you mean?

and there have been comments on Stu’s hair looking a bit Messi yesterday

I’ll get my coat

Exactly, the half hour following the subs was what really impressed me

My take on Amo yesterday was that he has been programmed to pass the ball back as soon as he receives it, instead of controlling the ball and taking the full back on down the flank, Fandab at least tried to take his full back on, and succeeded several times, the crossing needs to be more accurate. I like Manning, but there are occasions when it looks like his bootlaces have been tied together or he has his boots on the wrong feet! I thought Beddy was much better after JS went off, doing the job of two men! Downes looked fairly steady and adapted well to the possession ball. Fraser brought a bit of oomph to the left side. It was a good result for a team disrupted by so many issues. Adama covered as many blades of grass as is possible. Stu's hair looked a bit of a mess his play was a bit Messi/messy too! KWP was good going forward, but went missing a couple of times defence wise. Baza was just the usual mixture of good and bad, we got away with it this time. Charly was a less effective than usual and gave the ball away too often.
I was quite impressed with Sinclair Armstrong for QPR, put in a lot of effort up front and was their only real outlet. Just my opinion though!

Fandab <applause> <laugh>

The atmosphere was awful yesterday. Norwich was much better. Was it the weather or the flat performance?

We picked up in volume when we got better.
