Also, I can actually see where Hojlund will fit in now if we can maintain the pressure in the midfield as we did today.

Guaranteed you'd be saying the opposite if Mount was playing <laugh>

We were just as bad as we've been the past two games. It's unreal that you're putting a spin on it.

Two down to Forest, after four minutes, at home, is ****ing embarrassing.

Never mind the come back. Which was only completed against ten men anyway.

    ****e. Needs a massive improvement.

Still, 1 point off the current top two, one of which you'd think reinvented football with this Ange ball bollocks.

Utter crap, but somehow getting by. Surely can only improve!!

Yeh I think we all can, he's a centre forward. We don't have one. Where do you think he fits in? <laugh>

I thanked you for that Mount comment. lol

But watching Bruno and Eriksen play, there is no doubt that they have better understanding of each other. There was clear method to today’s madness in the midfield and Bruno was able to fully instrument his best.

Until Mount is able to show that he can play with Bruno in the midfield, the burden of proof is on him. But we already know that Bruno and Eriksen along with Casemiro complement each other.

I must say though, Sancho was terrible today when he came on. Perhaps that’s the player Mount should be competing to displace.

What is the matter with you negative bastards today? Forest had 4 shots on target for game compared to 9 from us. We completely controlled the game through the middle and the passes were truly an improvement from the first two games.

I don’t know what you’re both criticizing in that performance. Maybe if the first two goals never happened, your perspective of the overall game would be different.

That was a great game of football from my perspective!

Well of course. They did though.

What happened for us to be two down in four minutes? That's just absolute ****e, it should never happen against anybody.

Against a side of any real class, that two would have become four or five.

Or even more, like against Liverpool and Newcastle last season.

    We're piss weak.

I really think that it was an overall a very positive game. I’m reading comments on bbc with everyone suggesting that VAR came to the rescue.. what fkin idiotic bs! The defender didn’t even complain because he knew he had done with his leg in the way for Rashford to trip over. Never a dive! But such is the negative feedback loop over the club at the moment that even fans are thinking we were lucky to win. Nonsense!

For me, here are the positives…

We scored three goals - check
We controlled the game when we needed to - check
We created chances after chances from the midfield - check
We showed great fighting spirit as a team to come back without ever panicking - check
Bruno was sublime as a leader and as a contributor - check
Rashford terrorized the defence - check
Antony started to try something different on the right - check
The manager adjusted his tactics to ensure we got all the three points - check

If we are still complaining after that win, then I don’t know why we even bother. Maybe the opponent should just sit back while we score with all shots on target.

Funny thing.. bbc votes rated Bruno 4.6. Rashford at 4.86. Fkin idiotic nonsense! Both of them had the best game so far, albeit still a new season. Bruno early won man of the match.

I think people are getting really delirious with anything Manchester United.

Arsenal next week, and not at home.

    Genuine benchmark.

We'll soon see if this comeback gives us a lift.

Did you see the game? If not, just keep an eye out in the highlights for the lack of any fight from each and every player. Weak alright, it was pitiful. They brushed off the ball with ease. I'm staggered ETH would accept that lack of commitment.

    You’re being Neville there, Treble.

What do you have to back up this lack of commitment in that very game?

This is ETH’s quote which is absolutely spot on and he’s not the type to paint the pig with a lipstick:

Horror start, but the character of the team was brilliant. We stayed so calm and so composed. We stuck to our belief, stuck to our plan, played some good football and scored three good goals. It was a great comeback.”

It was a fantastic comeback and a fantastic game to watch. Back to back stuff with United constantly pressing while Forest tried to counter attack. How you can be so negative about that performance and context which it was delivered screams a massive sense of entitlement which we all display at one some point or another as United fans. But today should not be that day to somehow call the team weak. Those boys gave their all in that match. Not perfect but they certainly showed spirit, heart and executed the plan perfectly.

Well I don't often rate Danny Murphy with his analysis but he was spot on today. He gave credit to our wide players in Rashford and Antony who did play well. He then highlighted exactly what I've said with examples of where we lacked any fight, any desire to close down or tackle or win headers.

Forest is very physical team and you can see from the speed of Awoniyi that he’s a beast. Those factors should not be discounted.

If Murphy gave credit to Rashford and Antony, then surely he must acknowledge that Eriksen and Casemiro were in that game with a shout. Casemiro could have easily had two goals today. Even more critically, we have to acknowledge that Bruno had a great game playing major hand in two of the goals. That is essentially covers the full midfield.

Yes, we conceded two horrible goals because we were asleep across at the back. But I don’t think that the response can be questioned or labeled as weak especially from that midfield today. We dipped again when they went down to ten men and after we scored the third goal because they had nothing to lose and our boys were probably rightly done. It’s all within context.

But hey, it’s fashionable for anyone on TV to highlight negatives about United at the moment. The ball boy could have farted and you’d see negative headlines about it.

They weren't negative though. They gave both decisions to us (fairly) - the penalty and the sending off, no question. They said we did well to come back. But they also finished the analysis by pointing out that we were easy for Forest to play against bcos players didn't try hard enough. They showed examples of a lack of closing down, not putting in tackles, not even jumping for headers.

I really couldn't give a **** how physical the opposition are btw. That's no excuse for not bothering to do the basics.

I don't really buy the analysis that somehow points out that the team showed no desire today. That's just BS nonsense which ignores context of the match. Besides, it doesn't matter how perfect any performance is, it is never going to be pitch perfect for 90minutes.

I watched the whole thing and I think that such characterization of lack of desire is filled with biases because of how poor we had been.

Vs Wolves - 686 touches and 465 passes
Vs Spurs - 613 touches and 401 passes
Vs Forest - 812 touches and 637 passes - Statistics are often useless but the midfield moved the ball around with purpose today and very quick in possession with it as well. Something that had been lacking even going back to preseason. We used the width better too than the last two games.

Let's see how we make out against Arsenal. It is good that these difficult away games are coming in early as well which is why it was so crucial to get all the points today. If we can get something positive out of the Arsenal game, then we can look forward to likely impactful effects of introducing Hojlund.
