Doing my horses now. Going to do a £1 lucky 15 and a £2.50 ew acca to make it a £20 bet. First race and the last 3 races at York are paying the xtra places so I’m choosing them. First race I’m going for Equilateral… This is a noticeable step down in class and usually runs against horses above this level. Downside is it’s now 8 years old.
BOOM <party>

Morning.

My old mans scan results were rather positive. 100% of his cancer is still there but 80% of it has shrunk. There’s a tumour in his lung which has grown from 7cm to 16cm so that’s quite worrying. No treatment at all now until he has another scan in October. If it’s continued to grow, they’ll be giving him a different chemo to try and attack it. My results were disappointing so I can only look after him 1 week a month now and I need to rest up the other 23/24 days. My holiday insurance quote has gone up from £105 to over £700 so I’ve sacked it off and I’ll take my chances.

Off out for the newspapers and then I’ll be putting our bets on for the York meeting.

Morning. Any luck with the horses?
One winner and 2 placed. Bet £30 going to be picking up £25.

I like Hughie Morrison's at a decent price today. Can't remember the name of it just now.

Pleasantly cloudy down on the coast. I’m having ‘handover’ meetings most of the day to pass on the projects I don’t give a **** about to someone else who also won’t give a **** about them.

What line of work are you in ?

I have meetings about meetings and then brainstorm about how the process can be streamlined while scheduling regular catch-ups with the others on the project so we can touch base. The coffee is quite good though.

Moving into something sports-related which will be fun.

Sounds like the classic middle management nonsense that I used to be involved with. Meetings to discuss the minutes of a previous meeting.

I also used to get called to senior managements meetings at my HQ, 50 miles from where I live, along with 5 or 6 other middle managers. 10 people in a room, who have all driven a cumulative mileage of around 300-400 miles and taken half a day to discuss something that could have been done in an email

Pay was good though...

I’m taking the piss a bit. I guess you could call me a Marketing/Sales consultant. It’s a lot of telling Marketing what they should be doing because they’re only capable of sitting in meetings and then sending emails about what they talked about and know nothing about the product they’re marketing or who buys it because they live in house shares in Clapham on £65k and the people that buy the products are families in Burnley on median incomes.

Cool, If you can get me a few pairs of Hoka one I'd appreciate that.

I live in a cave in Cornwall, so my budget is even less than the Burnley pikeys

Will save me buying second hand kicks on ebay, thank you please.

We’ll all be living in caves once Rishi has siphoned the rest of the economy to his wife so you’re ahead of the curve.
