I am also sorry I gave it a go but I have retired to my little workshop and I'm painting kitchen chairs, it's very intersting watching the paint dry.

Disappointing performance from England, the better team won, but the second half was barely a game of football due to the game management.

I think it’s been glorified to be something that it’s not.. it’s football but not how we know it. IMO..

Too many not at their best. Shouldn’t have let Spain take control and sit back. Bronze had a mare. We didn’t play to our strengths and allowed them to dictate. As for the second half, if I want to watch time wasting the men are far better at it. The thing I like about the women’s top level game is less game management, diving, etc than the men. if that becomes part of it I’ll stop watching.

As previously stated England mirrored Bristol City today and were well beaten by the better team. Women's football will never be for me and I will stick to watching boring Bristol City's men's squad repeatedly fall at the first fence, or in the last 5 minutes of any half that they will play. Spain deservedly won the Women's World Cup and I can continue to say I was there in person the last time any England team won a World Cup (the real World Cup).

The only positive from yesterday’s game for me was Mary Earps reaction immediately following her penalty save. I didn’t realise I could lip-read!!
Not just that, but her reactions, instructions and gestures to her teammates after having to make saves in open play throughout the comp.
Respect to her - well deserved ‘Golden Glove’ winner.

I wouldn’t want to be late home after a few too many to face her wrath!!!!

None of them would, the standard is so low it’s not funny. Look at the penalty Spain got, it all started from a feeble pass across the box from one of the English girls which allowed Spain to close the space down, terrible

And the refs are as bad.
The ref yesterday was 3yards away looking straight at the hand ball............. and took 10minutes and a TV screen to award the penalty.
What about the 'delivery' of her decision. Pathetic, puerile and ridiculously theatrical.
1For got it right yesterday....... the Women's game is overhyped and bubble gum.

But we’re told we have to love it and that we’re dreadful mysogonists if we don’t

Well I don’t love it and I haven’t watched any of it

In their quest for parity of rewards with the men’s game, they’ve overlooked the truth bomb that not that long ago male players used to catch a bus to the stadium with the fans. Many had second jobs to survive and none had the potential money spinner of becoming a vastly overpaid pundit when they retired.

Thanks to the likes of Jimmy Hill and others who fought hard for a decent player wage we now have players earning obscene sums of money. It’s gone the other way

Do the women deserve the same ?

No, absolutely not. A fair wage for a professional sportsperson yes.

If the women’s game ever generates the corporate wealth, sponsorship, crowds and exposure that the men’s game has worldwide then maybe.

But it won’t happen overnight, World Cup runners up or not
