Only just made aware of this by a post on another thread. Very sad to hear this.
RIP Kempton. Please say hello to my old man when you meet up with the rest of the City supporters up there!

I thought of Rich today at City.

I after his dad died he struggled with going to City.

I knew he'd of loved a win against in a Yorkshire derby.

Only just seen this on the match day thread, I’m totally shocked and saddened. Kemps was a regular poster and well liked by everyone I think, a decent bloke who’ll be very sadly missed, but once a Tiger…

RIP Kemps, I’ll miss you, I hope you were looking down at our win today with Filey sat next to you.

I played my Fender Jaguar Modern Player last night. It's basically a strip down Jaguar without all the switching.

I never really gelled with that guitar and Rich suggested a few years ago putting thicker gauge strings on it with being short scale length guitar.

So I restrung with first 12s but that was too much, I struggled to bend notes, so finally I settled on 11s.

Now I've finally have gelled with it and play it a lot more.

Won't that have an effect on the neck?,I'm not an expert but I have a couple of fender Telecasters and they're set up for 9's(though I string them with 10's).I don't play lead so I prefer something a bit meatier to hit...

I did read some years ago that the jump in tension(and it's a huge jump) to 11's or 12's can warp/bow the neck?Like I say,I'm no expert but you may damage/warp the neck long term and it may result in you having to resort to getting the guitar set-up professionally?

The guy I use is Steve Curtis at PMT in Manchester (I used to work nearby). It's a treck but he's very good.

Just seen this, I'm surprised how sad it can be, losing a stranger on the internet. Like others, we had exchanged private messages on some random topics and he seemed like a genuinely decent stranger. I'm sure we're worse off without him.

    RIP Kemps

I will forever be grateful for knowing Rich. I have struggled with not being able to see him, particularly since moving back to Hull in the last year. To help cope with the grief, I learned this and play it nearly every day. I am not a musician as you can tell, but this has helped in some way. I hope by sharing it can inspire people in other ways to cope with losing someone. I would say do something in their memory and be thankful that you knew them and were able to share good times.
