Blackburn look like a really good team. You kind of knew we would make it hard for ourselves when they went to 10 men. Something that stood out for me is how dangerous we can be when we attack space but we just don't do it often enough. I thought defensively we were very poor today so can probably feel fortunate that they were down to 10 men.
Tbh I felt we were dominant until their goal. After that he went all out attack so it wasn't a surprise we left space at the back. We need to be more clinical though when on top.
If you'd have given me 6 points after Norwich, Sheff Wed and Blackburn I'd have snapped your hand off as well
I think we had so much sustained pressure and control we got complacent. They hit us rapidly 3 or 4 times in quick succession and we just looked shell shocked. Our defence was pressed very high though so once they managed to get the ball through midfield we were always up against it.
Jury was out on the Connolly signing. But the Chair has just handed a note to the Court Usher saying that they've reached a verdict.
I agree. We made hard work of it and could have been a bit quicker at points but until their goal we never looked in trouble
Imo poor from Rosenior in starting Twine, ahead of Lokilo (or even Vaughan) and taking too long to change things.
They had 1 shot off target in the first half. Scored their first decent chance in 75 mins. We looked shaky after we took a defender off to go all out for goals but that's hardly a surprise. The gamble worked.
I was going to post this regardless of the result. From the sending off until they scored, we were appalling. This keep-ball, pass it around the defence with no urgency played right into Blackburn’s hands. I was screaming inside as we wasted away the minutes. Thank god for Aaron Connolly. He is the spark that will drive this team forward. Now can we please try to score goals before trying to look fancy with this possession based nonsense? I should be happy with the 3 points. But the way we played for the majority of that game did not deserve them. We have been very lucky today but hopefully will learn from it and not do it again.
