    'Fifa president Sepp Blatter has said football does not have a problem with racism, and believes any incidents should be settled by a handshake'.

    Blatter looks more and more like a bumbling fool all the time. He's got his ****ing head in the sand if he thinks racism isn't a problem in football, hasn't he seen how some of the English players were treated in Bulgaria earlier this year? What a clown!

    It's probably not a big problem, remaining as mainly isolated incidents, but he shouldn't just flippantly swat it aside and refuse to acknowledge it all.

    It's like he can't be bothered, or he maybe thinks a bit of abuse is fine. Banter and that...

    His quote could be being misconstrued however, and he didn't actually disregard it in its entirety. A bit of a translation issue perhaps.

    Words on a page can never fully convey the desired tone of the message.

    Then again, I am a bit of a left-wing fanny, so I do think he should be doing something more than deciding to be in utter denial.

    I love how everyone on here is slagging him off. Do you really care that much about this comment? Right, wrong, whatever - is it really worthy of so much attention? Is there not something else to be talking about?

    Blatter brings out this "respect" campaign but doesn't respect officials enough to give them the tools to do the job properly.

    He announces there won't be technology introduced. When Lampard scores a clear goal but it's not given he decides that technology should be introduced. Didn't he ever think that this is just the thing that would happen without technology? Does he have to have it shoved down his throat before he will consider it?

    He doesn't seem to have a clue about racism.

    He only seems to be an expert when it comes to corruption.
