Ruffian, on what basis do you say that he did say anything RACIST? Suarez said that he made no racist remarks and therefore unless or until evidence can be brought that he did the majority of Liverpool supporters will continue to support him. Add to that the fact that Evra chose to 'go public' before an official complaint was made and his proven predeliction to become involved in racially associated actions and that support is compounded.

For their own reasons, the FA have brought a general charge and added a further allegation of a racial nature. Without being too wrapped-up in conspiricy theories it can be interprited as an attempt to ensure that some form of the charge can be found to be proven. However, with good legal represntation, the FA could find themselves tied-up in a mess of their own making. I somehow think that this whole matter will now spiral out of the control of the FA.

Given Ferguson's previous comments and Liverpool's statement then it would appear that the battle-lines are being drawn. It's going to become very messy.

I only read the first line Dave. And the simple answer is I DID NOT say that.

Let's not go along the poetic licence to interpret what I said as you please, eh?

Not guilty of what exactly? There's easily accessible video footage that proves Gerrard is a violent little ****bag <ok>

So you've never had a fight in your life?

You mean the video evidence that shows Gerrard using self defence against a psychotic DJ as proved in a court of law?

<ok>

I accept that you did not say that. I was trying to concentrate upon the primary issue. I have no doubt that Suarez did abuse Evra in some way but I doubt that he had a racial intent. Let's face it if I said to you (as an opponent on the pitch) "You're crap and you know you are" then it can be interprited as being abusive - true or not.

Now please read the rest of the post. Unfortunately this whole thing is going to do no good for the players and depending upon their future comments/actions the clubs.

How do you know? As far as I am aware the carcass has never been found.

They stole the horse, couldn't control him, as none of them had any experience with a stallion before, so they shot him.

Anyone who finds that amusing, realy needs to sort there life out

Actually Evra had already made his allegations to the referee before he spoke to Canal+. Although I do agree that he shouldn't have spoken about it in the way he should - all he should have said was that he felt he had been the subject of racist abuse and he had reported it. But then Evra can be a bit of a drama queen at times.

For their own reasons, the FA have brought a general charge and added a further allegation of a racial nature. Not entirely sure I follow you there. The fact that the FA have charged Suarez basically means that their investigation into what has happened has been made formal. In other words, their initial investigation over the last couple of weeks indicates that there is some evidence to support Evra's interpretation of what happened, and hence Suarez is being formally informed of this and given the chance to defend himself. The FA and Suarez will gather their evidence, there will be a hearing and a verdict will be given. If Suarez is found innocent he will walk away with his reputation intact. If guilty, well let's cross that bridge if we come to it.

Tho your comment about battle lines seems a bit OTT. One of the main impacts of the FA's decision is that the matter is now taken completely out of Evra's, SAF's and Utd's hands. The FA is now the one who will do all the investigating, with Suarez obviously entitled to defend himself, and it is up to the FA to decide what input into the case anyone at Utd has. I reckon the first thing the FA will do is ban either side from discussing the issue with the media, so if anything the charging process and investigation will help stem the messy public side of it. After all, anyone making provocative comments about on ongoing investigation would probably risk a charge themselves.

I for one am still hoping that, as Rusholme says, this may all turn out to be a misunderstanding and will be resolved in the end.

Yet despite there being a video within hours of John Terry having his outburst there still isn't a video of Suarez despite Evra saying "There are cameras, you can see [Suarez] say a certain word to me at least 10 times."

I think he's referring to the video evidence of Gerrard violently elbowing Danny Welbeck and Michael Brown in the head. Maybe Rooney was just taking after his fellow scouser? ;)

Rooney was copying Rio's antics at Hull.

:0)

Theres more arguments on here than the 'banter thread'
