Well done City on their free-scoring start to the season. Just wondering whether you think City can keep their fantastic footabll going and score 100 goals this season? Or even break Chelsea's 103-goal record? LIke Chelsea in 09/10, they can bring on subs when the game is won and carry on scoring; except City's squad is even stronger. To show how difficult it is to score 100 goals even Barca did not manage it last season (95 goals) or the season before (98) in a supposedly weaker league, La Liga.
Too early to be thinking about that. They need to average over 2 goals per game for the rest of the season to be looking at the record, and team's which make a fast start often go through a bad patch of form after the Christmas period. If they're still on course for it come February/March, we can think about it.
I don't think we will be breaking any records, we have had a fairly easy run of games so far (excluding united) and we knew last weeks game was going to be difficult and it was, we have Newcastle, Liverpool, Arsenal Chelsea and Arsenal again in the next 6 games and non of those are going to be easy, I would love us to get 100 goals but just getting enough to win each game will do for me.
Whatever they score I sincerely hope they do not score 1 against us! This means they will have to do it in 36 games!
There will be games where we will score more than 2 goals a game. There will also be games where we will either score 1 or won't score at all. it all depends on which happens the most. If we are around the 50 goal mark come early Jan next yr then yes we are in with a chance.
Rumour has it that Pardew has a hypnotist coming in for our game to convince the lads we're playing against Cheltenham.... you guys might be in trouble
I was not looking forward to the QPR game as i knew it was going to be tough, i am expecting the same again on Saturday.
I think City's only worry will be seldom flashes of decent attacks... overall in Manchester, City's inevitable control of possession and Silva keeping our defense guessing with his dribbling and through balls should be too much.
Yes it will be a hard game on Saturday, however providing that we play to our strengths we should win this as well. The game against Liverpool the following week will be alot harder then the 1 against Newcastle.
