Moot point though - if his agents have him by the balls and are on a bigger retainer at Chelsea, then we need to walk away now, if not four hours ago. The player has supposedly put out a statement that he prefers to go to Chelsea (or he hasn't denied it): that should really, really be enough.
If he's not actually said it, it can't really come out and deny publicly as that could jeopardise any potential move to Chelsea (he'll want to keep his options open). All he'd need to do is speak to Liverpool privately.

If you look at the Twitter post she’s actually quoting some else regarding who actually is Caicedo’s agent.
Before we were publicly linked, a month or so back, the player himself DID say he really wanted to go to Chelsea. He called them a big club with lots of history... That said, to my knowledge he hasn't said anything publicly in the last 48hrs about it, so we're only going on what an Italian Twitter journalist, Fabrizio Romano, is saying, everyone else is just quoting him it seems. He could be right, but he's far from infallible. Obviously something is going on though because there is no lean photo yet, so it is probably true we're not getting him. That said, hopefully Liverpool are still looking at their other options. We were also linked with Cheick Doucouré earlier in the season, he might not be a bad fall-back. Not as good as Moises, but from all I've read, he's got a better and more stable head on his shoulder so probably be more of a team player.

The funniest thing is All the saints fans on here going on about how the hope Lavia goes to Chelsea over us, be hilarious abd much prefer him at Chelsea etc But all the Brighton fans saying how they hope caicedo goes to us over Chelsea, don’t understand why he would want to go to Chelsea over lfc etc. Is funny how some fans just don’t like other clubs due to pat dealings. Where was £110m for Bellingham? I thought the philosophy was £100m+ would get 3 quality players. We need a DM, CB and RB. Caicedo is not going to solve nor gloss over the other two glaring needs!
