I cant imagine Mike Ashley offering huge bonuses no matter how unlikely we would be to hit them surely?

The thing is they'll have become easy to hit.... when Ashley set them they'll have struggled to.... I'd imagine they'd have been decent just impossible.

Wouldn't surprise me to hear that Ashley personally emailed all the players for them to demand the crazy bonuses that they have in their contracts.
I doubt the zero hours deals will be mentioned though.

Struggle to see if this has any legs to it. There talking about season bonuses rather than contractual bonuses. Surely these are discussed at the start of each and every season.

Mike ashley had a strange bonus scheme
It was basically the prize money handed to the team via league position, where everyone at the club whether it be top goal scorer or ground keeper got a share of the same bonus pot.
So all the little minions no matter how good they were at their jobs relied on the players on the pitch to produce the goods and getting the points
As Ashley was only ever interested in survival, and we always finished near the bottom, the bonuses were very small for ALL employees of the club

Mike Ashley is no longer owner so can't see how they are still operating the same scheme

I heard the numbers are very high like millions each so a players transfer fee basically.

The bonus pot would have been quite high for us finishing 4th. It would be already around all employees.

It would have also been contractual. Not annual.

It would be linked to players pay as a percentage I would imagine.

The fact that the club are getting in better players means that hitting the high level bonus position would be much easier to achieve
The club dont ask the players and employees to contribute to buying in the better quality players to achieve this, and obviously want a return from their investment
I personally think its sensible to allow the club to grow

But yet again reporters can manipulate the facts to suit their own agenda
The players will not be taking a 40% cut, it would be across the board
I Know some one on 40k a year and got a bonus of 30k
Whereas under Ashley he got 4k.
Losing 40% of 30k is still a hell of a lot more than 4k under the Ashley regime

It actually knocks me bad thinking we had those years with Mike Ashley, Lee Charnley & Steve Bruce. If there was ever a footballing nightmare, that’s it.

It was also made even more excruciating listening to the entire world media brainwashing the worlds audience into believing Ashley was a good owner and nufc fans were just delusional and had unrealistic expectations.

It was perverse pleasure being taken in nufcs demise and they enjoyed every minute of those 15 years.

It's absolutely ****ing brilliant now it's like the end of an epic movie where the bullies finally get defeated.

If that was the case then why did we have all the bickering pre season and even going into the season when it was Barton, Nolan and Harper as the leadership group.

Seasonal bonuses are agreed with the playing squad before each season. They are not put into 5 year contracts at point of signing.
