Lokilo - dropped a little later in the game but showed good signs. Fleming - Showed why he can be an asset especially when we are on the front foot. Ingram - Stuck to the gaffers order under increasing pressure to do something else haha
Lokilo - genuinely had a decent game. Connolly - was trying to make things happen and kept making runs in an attempt to coax a ball over the top. The one time it happened he drew the keeper a mile off his line but Simons fumbled what would have been an open goal from range when he got the ball. Vinagre - some good recoveries after some fairly poor defensive moments and makes the top 3 for the instance where he took the ball down the field past 3 or 4 of their players. Mentions - Tufan, Coyle, Delap, Oscar... They at least had positive moments but most of them weren't on long enough to do much. I suppose Ingram makes the list for having ten times more touches and possession than anyone else out there.
Lokilo, Vinagre at times, Oscar for the goal perhaps. Ingram special mention for not ripping the goalposts down and wading into the north stand swinging the left upright. Pretty **** though really, wasn't it? Raises more questions than answers.
Lokilo - Bright start and an assist Estupinan - Type of goal we need to score more often Smith - Looked like a footballer at times (eg During concussion test)
I'll leave this running for today in the hope that, after a good night's sleep, folk are more able to identify the on-pitch positives from last night.
Vinagre - thought he was brilliant while he was on Ingram - actually did well with his distribution despite what many will say Simons - did alright and in that first 10 minutes before they stopped pressing us he was central to us passing out through them. They changed their approach because we were getting through them so easily. As for others, I think Lokilo looked lively without an end product, and we didn't really see him run at them. The kind of performance that excites people from a new player but if it was say Allahyar there'd be a lot more scrutiny over the output. Traore was awful and Connelly looked way short of sharpness. Also thought Andy Smith was a bit naive at times.
Having watched it from the comfort of my seat in E5, the only positive from last night is the absence of extra time. Abridged version, it was awful. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
1. Viagra.... for the mazy run.. 2. Delap.....for getting his head up and displaying some attitude. 3. Connolly.. for the Megan Rapinoe lookalike barnet. Best part of the night was the lovely sun set over the North Stand. Beautiful.
