When was the last time a Championship team reached a cup final? Bradford about 10 years ago when they got battered by Swansea?
Bradford were a league 2 side.

Exactly this!!!Probably the best outcome from RM's point of view, gives him all the ammo for the next few critical weeks in the transfer out/in process.
Really, so we can be in dog fights each season with more misery. Which games have brought you most joy. Winning a semi final or scaping an away draw 0-0 at Crystal Palace to give you an outside chance of staying in the league.
I have read so many posts about enjoying the championship. It seems now the holy grail is all about getting back to the land of disappointment.

Yep Boro won in 2004, Birmingham won in 2012 and Birminhgam.lost to Pool in 2001.Bradford were a league 2 side.
Honestly, it's fine. I'd happily never see the likes of Lyanco, McCarthy and Djenepo play again (and they're not the only ones). The more embarrassing for them, the better.
Spot on sirI must admit I do find this whole "oh look how amazing the championship is" combined with "but we MUST get promoted this season" rather baffling.

Think this was the bigger issue than the personnel tbh. Not sure what we expected playing just 1 CM who has played CB all preseason. The team he chose had no balance. I don’t think this game was ever going to prove anything apart from RM didn’t want to win!
Thank god there was no stream available for this one aye.

At least Martin has seen exactly who/why he can't trust
Lincs, I have to like this, as I seem to agree from a different angleCome on now. We may be losing 3-0 to a league 2 side, but we sold a player to a CL side this week and made SR a wedge. It's not about winning games anymore, it's about selling youngsters with a huge mark up. Yes Gillingham are through to the next round, but did their owners pocket 30 odd million quid? We know who the real winners are today![]()

No one lately, due to the ****/negative attitude of coaches to cup competitions
Yeah meant to put “or lower”
Anyway it’s not like we have any chance of winning a domestic cup. The chances of winning one when not a European level team are remote enough let alone when not even a Prem team.
He must have etched horror shows for last season and known that alreadyAt least Martin has seen exactly who/why he can't trust
It’s quite simple really. The Championship is amazing for a side like us because we are the Man City of the league financially, this means we should win lots of games and be competing at the top of the table. This makes it amazing
We then must get promoted because if we don’t we quickly aren’t the Man City of the league due to relegated teams taking that honour and quickly become the Saints of the league and do **** all every year losing more games than we win.
The ideal scenario is to be a Fulham/Norwich yo-yo team where every year we are either contending for promotion or trying to not get relegated, keeps it interesting (well as interesting as it can be)
Okay, but Man City take every competition seriously, so we are not the Man City of our league. Mabe the Cystal Palace of our league? It’s quite simple really.
