Before anyone asks, Argentina tends to do deals in the US Dollar due to the Argentine peso being tied to the USD - which is why the Argentine economy basically died in the mid-2000s when the USD plummeted, meaning the currency their currency was tied to far too tightly made their currency worthless

IIRC it's similar with Brazilian clubs, as they deal in USD instead of the Real - which is how we dodged a bullet with Paulinho by somehow negotiating in the Real, meaning what we paid for him decreased for each installment

If/ when Kane leaves, having just Richarlison and an unproven youngster to replace him isn’t too far off of when we accepted Fraizer Campbell on loan as part of the Berbatov deal.
It does have to be said the Taremi links mainly seem to be coming from Porto's side the the equation, which does make it seem like they're using our name to try and nudge the Milanese clubs into upping their rumoured bids

In terms of Orban, one thing that has started to pick up in volume is, if we do buy him, it will be a buy-and-loan back, not least as Gent want a fee in the region of the €30m Lille paid for Jonathan David a few years back, so a buy-and-loan-back would presumably drill that fee downwards

Just a thought: has anyone considered the possibility that we'll be lining up with Kane as main striker, but with Veliz as his backup? Because the more I dig around, the more Veliz looks uncannily like Richarlison in how he plays...

From a large chunk of our fans Chelsea is as big a rival as the goons... personally it gets no where near that for me

I've said multiple times, since they ruined football, cheated their way to success and have pissed on our parades with freakish regularity, I hate Chelsea more than Arsenal and if given a choice between them to win the league, would prefer the latter. Relegation - would prefer the former.

To me, this goes way beyond local rivalry. It gets to the very heart of what makes modern football so detestable. And while Sky and United introduced the germ, Abramovich and Chelsea made it an epidemic.

I Agree with what you say but in term of rivalry when we lose to Chelsea I'm like

That’s a very unlikely outcome even if probably favourable to most, as it leaves a £60m signing as a third choice striker and/ or backup wide forward/ winger. Richarlison would essentially be in a worse position within the squad than he was last season, I just don’t see Levy sanctioning a move with that in mind, he’ll want to somehow see a return on the money we spent albeit I personally don’t ever see that happening.

Odds of there being some 4D chess that sees Richy head to PSG on Deadline Day?

From Mbappe to Richarlison would be… well interesting I guess!
The assumption was that Levy was on the blower to PSG to either get a better fee for Harry Kane, or either force Bayern to stop ****ing about with the fee or scare them off, but PSG are light up top with Messi and Icardi both departing this summer

Of course, something else Richy could do is use his Fluminese connection to have a word with Andre Trindade about joining us, which wouldn't be the first time we'd have benefitted from our South American connections this summer as Veliz is crediting Gio Lo Celso with convincing him to join

Along with the usual suspects, Dan KP has confirmed Spence is on the transfer list. Disappointing, never got a chance and the other two RBs have hardly cemented themselves as undroppables.

It may well have been on his own request which wouldn't surprise me. Ange has had a chance to look at him and hasn't featured him at all in pre season iirc so it doesn't bode well.

That answers my question from yesterday I guess. Ange must have not seen enough on the training pitch, but I don't reckon the lad has been given any sort of opportunity to show what he could bring on the pitch.
Disappointing, as you say.

I read somewhere there were issues with his attitude. Ange seems to be a very decisive kind of man with a very clear view on what he wants from both players and team.
