Another three year contract paid off? It was stupid to give him that long - said so at the time. This was never going to end well.

Biggest problem will be finding someone who is cheap, available and willing to take on the biggest challenge of their career with no funds to back them up....you up for it @bobmid ?
Wouldn't even want a contract mate. Seriously though, many people could get a finer tune out of this team over Ainsworth. He's clueless

No one's signing on less than three years
Except me
One year deal and the team picked each Friday night on here

Warburton was on a one year rolling contract if I remember right....something similar to that with performance related incentives should be what we offered. We're so skint that even if we continue this nosedive, I'm not sure the board would pull the plug

We have a Division 1 manager type thingy who is doing his best to get us there.

l think the team should all wear belt buckles in support of their manager…… in fact, l’m looking for mine now!

Willock is a difficult one, in a way I hope he is on his way. His attitude clearly sucks and much as I hate rewarding that sort of behaviour I do think to a degree GA should pander to him. Blatantly taking the piss with a 96th appearance is not going to work on a sulky brat.

How many of us honestly expected much different? Very few if the prediction league is a decent gauge, lots of heavy defeats in there.

Still a bit of a shock when it actually happens though.
Apparently some people stayed behind to applaud them off as they did at Blackpool.

We’re a very easy group of supporters to please. We’ve all seen 5-0s at Southend, 7-1s at West Brom etc. We don’t care Kakay is mediocre because he clearly appreciates the chance even if in reality he’s L1 at best. Dozzell, Willock, Richards can **** off forever. If we’re going to go down with about 12 points I’d rather give the kids a go.
Terry, formerly of this parish, was at the game and rated Kakay as the worst of a bad bunch and Duke-McKenna as the best. But I’d rather go with your line of playing our own kids and losing that way. But it’s not fair on them to be played with a gormless throwback giving them instructions.

It was our left side that got constantly roasted. Kakay had a great chance he totally fluffed early in the second half but defensively he was good relative to the three idiots alongside him.

If we do somehow manage to survive this season what happens next season and the season after that? Is there any light at the end of the tunnel or are we just going to plummet through the divisions and accept that’s our fate.
Where are the board and what’s the plan? It actually feels like they’ve given up. There are loads of teams with less resources than us and smaller fan bases that have strong teams and ambition. Our performance in the first 45 minutes yesterday has to be one of the worse I have ever seen.

Some nice seaside towns in the Conference South. Probably.

Ainsworth is a joke but professional footballers can be reasonably expected to show a basic level of pride and commitment to the club paying them.

It is his fault that Chair got none of the ball and was stuck left wing. It’s his fault we aimlessly punted the ball towards Dykes with no one near him and that the defence could barely get in a line let alone stop a very basic chip over the top.

But it’s not his fault that some of the more competent players in this squad very clearly don’t give a ****. Willock and Richards mooched along the touchline all game with faces liked smacked arses and Willock was visibly pissed off at being asked to do his job. Paal’s basic positioning and efforts at tracking back were Sunday league. 50-50s lost constantly. There’s a lack of ability in this club for sure but there’s a complete lack of bollocks.

You're right, the players should be up for playing no matter what.
Unfortunately, in reality, it doesn't happen.
If the players have no faith in the coach, as I believe is happening, then they stop playing for him.
It has always been thus and Ainsworth is already on borrowed time.
