Sounds like it's closer ro £35m - and the £40m is including various add ons over time. But yeah, I definitely get what you mean, it's a lot for a young player with 1 full season and an injury record, regardless of his future potential. Bit of a gamble. Just hoping he's fully recovered from injury and no repurcussions.
Bought him from Chelsea for £5m 2 years ago. Still he may turn out to be great, I can't see this being as bad as when Rangers got Boumsong on a free then we paid £8m for him 4 months later
