Isaak off?................ https://the72.co.uk/2023/08/02/cardiff-city-academy-graduate-enters-talks-over-belgian-switch/
Makes sense to offload squad players who aren’t likely to be given much game time, even with (ridiculously IMO) 9 subs allowed. Edit - seen this is now confirmed on city website
Are they actually allowed to make 9 substitutions now then? I thought it only meant you can name 9 for the bench. As for Isaak, I'm inclined to agree with nin.
I think it is still 3 plus concussion subs but 9 on the bench gives more choice. Good for Isaak to go and get regular game time and show his worth. I may be wrong but isn't the Belgian club the one recently sold by VT?
Did Burnley buy the Belgium club? Burnley offered £2 million for Davies a while back…..smelling the stink of poop here, no offence Bethan! Masky
Panzo anyone?..........well we do need an extra centre back option............... https://the72.co.uk/2023/08/03/card...se-for-nottingham-forest-man-reporter-claims/
Did well at Cov. 29 appearances last season. At 6ft 1 not the biggest of cb's but that needn't matter. Not what I expected as an incoming cb. In a back 4 probably cover for Goutas and McGuinness. May be more effective in a back 3. How many loaners do we have now? I seem to recall we can only use a limited number, is it 5, in a matchday squad? Which is why we didn't sign Trusty last season.
Got that wrong the limitation was on Arsenal. They were limited to 8 loans to foreign clubs and while we are in the EFL we are deemed as being foreign as we are Welsh. Arsenal would have breeched the rule if he had come to us.
The number drops to 7 this season and 6 next year. I wonder how this impacts on Forest? If we get Panzo on loan we will have 2 from them. They have a bloated squad and probably need to loan out others. Could be a problem if we want O'Brien on loan.
If it is right we can only have 2 I’d have O’Brien. If it’s Panzo then he’s versatile and got to be better than Simpson otherwise why have him?
According to the interview on the club site Allsop is injured so Alnwick is starting Sunday which to me is a huge worry. What’s the point of supposedly strengthening other parts of the team when one of the major parts of the spine is weak? I’m disillusioned by the lack of bringing in a bid competent keeper. What does Bulut see in him that we don’t?
I'm not as negative as you on Allsop but Alnwick looks a poor back up to me. A rabbit in the headlights.
Got to agree with that. Allsop out for the first three games. We really should have got another goalie as backup (as well as CB and CF).
Apparently, Tan still owns the other club. It was announced that Tan had sold the Belgian club to American investors the Kaminski Group, however that deal is understood to have fallen through.
