I’m glad Cardiff City rejected my £21 offer for a season ticket. Adida have just signed a contract with Man U worth 900 million over 10 years! Fug me apart from Malaysia, who sponsors us then….means fug all to Masky! :emoticon-0103-cool: Masky

Unquestionably due to my limited mental capacity, I didn't really understand your post Masky.
However, I too read about the Adidas/Manure deal and like you, it had me wondering about our own sponsorship deal. Does anyone know if we get any financial benefit from our sponsor or is it just a thank you to VT?
Now I've read my own question, it probably makes less sense than Masky's, but I'm sure a few amongst our group will have some insight into how it works.

I'm sure I read somewhere right at the outset that VT did indeed contribute to our finances as part of the advertising deal (can't really call it sponsorship)?? I honestly can't recall figures but I'm pretty sure we do get something, just not quite £900,000,000.00.

Thanks Brizzle. I know it wouldn't happen, but do you think we're missing out on extra money by not having a shirt sponsor? It's not as if the Visit Malaysia message would be lost given the decor of CCS. Though I suppose it doesn't get that exposure at away games. Professional football is so complicated now.

Yep agreed, it would be good to have a "real" sponsor but then again I personally would happily forgo the cash in favour of rewarding a charity instead.

Well, that or a picture of Putin with a cross hairs on his forehead, but that's a subject for a whole other thread...

Absolutely agree on promoting a charity on the shirt. I seem to recall Villa doing it for a while.
