Apparently they went in for Squillaci on loan but that failed so they're now after our swashbuckling superstar AO'B in the January window.

If we can reinvest the money in someone else, might as well do it. Obviously we can't/won't do that, but it's nice to delude oneself.

i think Andy O'Brien isnt useless and personally i think he is our 3rd best CB at our club, obviously if we can get money for him let him go but i wouldnt try and run him out the door. Although we do need to bring in a good CB

Sell him and look into league one for talent. There must be a capable centre back down there who could hit the ground running with us?
 
Get AOB out. Even if he manages to make some kind of sustained good run of form for us, he's still 32, and has another year on his contract after this year. Get his wages off the book before we end up paying up his contract sometime next season. We need better for promotion.
 
I've said it before I'll say it again - the problem isn't the players, it's how the players coordinate - that's a training and leadership issue, not a talent issue.

your so single minded its untrue...

He may not be our best CB and by a long way, hes still good enough to be on the bench or 4th choice CB. He didnt do badly when he was on loan to us, he then played badly once he signed for us. He has got a lot of premier league experience as well. Hes not a complete idiot, he still has a use. In saying all of that though, if we can get money for him, then take it but not for free
