Just read an article where john terry says dennis wise was the chelsea player he admired the most when he came to chelsea - should terry just keep his mouth shut for a while - i wouldn't see dennis wise as any sort of character worthy of admiration

can't say i ever liked the chap - he just seemed to be very sneaky - maybe that was just during his wimbledon days

Bit of a character, nonetheless a legend at Chelsea and a terrific captain. I'm sure that's how JT looks up to him and gained his ability as a great leader himself. Wise was sort of his mentor.

He was a sneaky bastard right enough, I got removed from a game Chelsea v Wimbledon because Wise made a comment about my disabled brother whilst taking a throw in down by the west stand shed end. He didn't look so cocky when I jumped over the barrier and made a grab for him. However he did apologise when he joined Chelsea a while later and always came over to say hello when we were there. <ok>

he was a bit of a cheeky chappie though - always seemed more interested in winding up opponents than playing the game - don't think it's a good time for terry to be saying he was a role model for him

drogs you might be able to help me with this - i seem to remember wise going on to the pitch a couple of years ago at the end of a game - it wasn't at chelsea and he wasn't playing but he said something to someone from the opposing team which made him completely lose the rag - nearly started a riot - do you know what this was about

Would it be when he was playing for Coventry? I kind of stopped following him when he went to Milwall <laugh>

not sure drogs but for some reason the incident sticks in my mind - love to know what it was all about - i think he said something to an opponent that he had had a history with - the thing that reminds me of it is the ally mc coist spat with lennon when he whispered something in lennons ear which made lennon lose the plot

definitely wasn't playing but not sure what position he held - was probably manager or coach - this is going to wreck my head - surely someone out there knows what it was about - anyway, it's been a pleasure but i'm finished work and am off home - cheers

On one hand he achieved a lot of things at Chelsea, when we started winning things again! His appearances and goals record speaks for itself. But as Fergie said--"He could start a fight in an empty room!" His place was taken by Lamps, just about as different a bloke as you could imagine! Still, I suppose it takes all sorts to make a world!
