I say it quite often, he played RB (occasionally) before joining us. However, Klopp's never played him there so send unlikely

Just struck me that if we sign Lavia for whatever price and add Colhill I’ll be celebrating like we’ve just bought Bellingham and another Virgil.

they’re 19 ffs….they may be brilliant in the future but at what point did my expectations get numbed so much that it isn’t more of a raised eyebrow at these two? Mito might be right <yikes> they (FSG) lower our expectations continually.

that’s said, get it done boys!!

Liverpool have failed with a bid to sign LASK winger Keito Nakamura despite offering to loan him back to Austria.

with a population of 9m, each person could have him to themselves for 3.5 seconds a year. He might be a bit tired when he got to us.

that's what a crisis will do for you.

    Expectations numbed.

    Desperation increased.

I wasn't looking for a Bellingham last season anyway so getting macallister and szoboszlai for 91mil was quite good for me for midfield. there's absolutely no was colwill comes. not a chance.

for the rest I have stated many times i was hopeful the forwards would carry us through as our defence really didn't look like we were going to do it. I have also stated many times 4th and a europa would be excellent result for us.

Losing Henderson ,fabinho and thiago all at once takes out 2 players as at least 1 is normally injured anyway. replacing that with one 19 year old and then relying on other young players just reinforces that 4th is a good result.

HOWEVER. as of today I am still hopeful those forwards will carry us through. From now til sept 1st theres a high chance the saudis target us to help newcastle but if we can get through intact from here and add a coupl even if kids like colwill and lavia then we at least have the forwards to fire goals off trent.

I would dump all the cups this year by playing u18s and just focus on keeping the first 11 fit and firing. We need to win the europa group to go direct to last 16. also vital.

    alisson (30)
    Trent (24) Konate (24) VVD (32) Robertson (29)
Szoboszlai (22) Lavia (19) (likely it seems) macallister (24)
    Salah (31) Nunez (24) Diaz (26)

    Gakpo (24), jota (26), jones (22), elliott (20), bajcetic (18), kelleher (24), bradley (20), tsimikas (27), matip (31)

It'll be a 3223 formation at that and if they can stay fit and score enough goals (big ifs as konate and nunez are iffy) then we can build on that again.

they are young enough there that we can targets those key areas really CBs and players making a big step up are required.

honestly there's enough games about for these young players to put a hand up.

Glad somebody else has mentioned that. We need quality and quantity to get Thursday nights wrapped up as soon as possible. If so, playing on Thursday becomes a bonus as we rest the first team and have the added bonus of never having to play on Saturday lunchtime. Generally speaking, and with our really high co-efficient, we should get a relatively mild group, but the travel, I'm sure, will be taxing. We should be playing as many reserves in these matches as we can, the nominated squad notwithstanding, with the first team on the bench just in case. Get it dusted off by late October and we can put our feet up domestically until February.

Liverpool set to make second offer for Lavia.

    - Fabinho still expected to join Al Ittihad despite the Saudi club arguing over payment terms

    - Henderson to Al ettifaq formalised in 24 hours.

So Milner, Ox, Keith with Hendo and Fab likely to leave - replaced by Mac and Dom (and Lavia likely). I think we need one more midfielder to come in but we also have Thiago, Bajetic, Jones.

    Exciting options.
