No idea mate, but he was 100% at the AOL on the morning. My boy is in the academy and he gave all the lads a high five as they went out to train.

Seen a few question his record because of the level (not on here) if he had that record in league one or for a bottom end championship team people would be clambering to sign him, could be very smart business

Wouldn't it be better for our collective blood pressures just to wait and see who's the next scarf picture at the AOL, all this conjecture isn't good for you.

In the last 2 seasons he has scored 23 and 21 goals so clearly has a strikers instinct.

I don't have a clue about the standard of the dutch second division and I very much doubt many normal fans do either.

More than happy to trust the club and data if he signs

I love the speculation, especially these young lads I've never heard of.

Like you say most of it is pointless till they appear in a scarf photo, but I enjoy digging out the stats and random you tube clips.

Much more fun than it used to be with the same old names of journeymen players doing the rounds imo

Plus, although his goal scoring stats in the Dutch first division don’t look good there could have been extenuating circumstances. Judging by the stats on TPFKAC’s link, most of his 40ish first division appearances were with a low ranked side - hence scoring chances were less than if he was playing for a team like PSV.

He could be worth a punt for a shrewd fee.

I get why people are wary of Dutch league goalscorers as a few haven’t done it over here but our strike rate (no pun intended) has been pretty good under speakman, he’s abit older too so there is that, would still like another wiser head if Stewart does go plenty games to rotate and the 9 subs is massive now

I haven’t looked into his stats in the top flight but would be interesting to see how many minutes he played, have to look at more than just goals to games when looking at strikers especially young ones, someone could have scored 4 in 40 but if they’re only making ten minute cameos suddenly the record looks so much better

edit 4 goals 6 assists in roughly 2000minutes but left when he was around 20 if transfermarket is accurate

Could be a Phillips could be a Rade Prica. No idea. The clips I’ve seen show some smart finishes but against poor players so could go either way. Sounds like we’ll hear today where he’s heading.

The same Phil Parkinson who is too scared to tell players to their face they won’t be offered a new deal…

Its a great site if you like stats. Let's you do comparisons against other players, teams etc.

The stats during the season are after games often make interesting reading compared to what your eyes see

All our signings deserve a chance, mad how some immediately write players off because of the level they were playing at before coming here.

Some may take more time, some will hit the ground running and others may not make the grade. That’s all part of the excitement.

I disagree . . . . this conjecture is good for us. It gives us topics to discuss, an interest during the close season, and something to read whilst some of us do as little as possible at work

It's a bit different to the not too distant past when we looked at potential recruits with trepidation :emoticon-0148-yes:

You make it sound like a complete gamble. With the recruitment processes and personnel we have in place the odds are (or should be) stacked much more in favour of it being a good signing.

This regime’s success rate in the market suggests it’s doing a bit more than just rolling the dice and relying on dumb luck.
