Even if he was penniless today and signed that contract tomorrow he would be half way to being one of the richest 2500 people on earth - for a year (8-10 months really) work.
From what I can find he is worth about $180m as of today - he'd nearly quadruple his worth over night, without any of the additional sponsorship fee's he'd get out there plus any brown envelopes pushed his way...

This is about one player. Won’t affect the Premier League. Won’t affect the Champions League, at least not presently. They’d need to buy up a couple of hundred top players plus managers etc for the Saudi Pro League to challenge the best in Europe.
There’ll be many like Messi for instance who just don’t fancy it. Not sure why a bid much larger than is needed to get PSG to agree to sell was made.

This. If it's not applied equally across the globe, via FIFA, then having local rules will simply just restrict our league in the long run vs Saudi and other potential leagues where money is no object.
Otherwise, there may well be a new breakaway league - but this time led by Saudi PIF and with much bigger funding.
