Seen bits of smile on tv the other night, anyone seen it fully and is it as good as it looks

The horror film? Maybe I wasn't in the right mood to watch it but it didn't do it for me, most of the bits that were supposed to be scary I found funny.

Very subjective though isn't it horror, much like comedy.

The Barbie film seems to be causing a bit of controversy. Not surprising, bearing in mind that the film was heavily marketed as a fun kid's film and then turns out to be toxic feminism on steroids where the only thing the writers hate more then themselves are every single man who's ever existed.

Hollywood seems to be incapable of producing anything not heavily politicised these days.

The trailer was on in the cinema the other say when took my kids to see something, so clearly aimed at kids in that way. But jt didn't come across as a kids film, even in the short trailer I could tell it was going to be heavily loaded with a certain agenda. Also didn't really come across as a kids film other than the fact it was Barbie.

Think it's aimed at adults who grew up with Barbie and if they take their kids along its a bonus.

There's a couple of minutes of cam footage knocking about on the internet when one of the Barbies goes on an unhinged rant about how everything wrong in their lives is everyone else's fault. Well, not quite everyone else - about 50% or so.

Made the wife watch The Departed recently and she thought it was “just ok”.

Whopper.

I remember when me and my wife first got together. We were talking about films and the fact she "doesn't really watch films". I asked her if she had seen Shawshank, she hadn't. So I made her watch the DVD with me that evening, I was 100% judging her on what she thought of it!

Luckily for her she appreciated its brilliance. Well may be unlucky as we are still together about 16 years later and do each other nuts in most the time! <laugh>

Just seen Oppenheimer in the summer screen at the gate. Incredible cinema. Sound and visuals like I haven't seen before. Really a masterpiece and one you should pay for to watch at th cinema.
Great to hear that mate. Nolan is one of the best, I was wondering if he would make it worthwhile for the 3hrs but sounds like he has nailed it. (As he usually does <laugh>)

Andy Dufresne was in Shawshank for 19 years, so you've still got a bit if time to go yet, mate :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I just watch telly by myself, prefer it that way to be honest can't be arsed with her saying it's ****e or not believable.

Meanwhile she watches some pisshead on tik tok who ****ing screams and shouts and I want to take her phone off her and lash it out the window the second I hear it.

Do it mate, if she can't help herself it's up to you to take responsibility. She'll probably thank you.
