good point, we’ll made it’s a pure assumption based on their need to realign their spending after relegation. We simply don’t know what’s involved
Talk ls about it, yes. But never agreed. Trouble is, the transfer window in the rest of Europe would still be open so English clubs could potentially lose players without being able to replace them.
They did a couple years ago. Window shut before season but because europe isn’t the same the clubs didn’t like it and reverted back to normal.
I expect you'd have to do a full 11 to be any use, but both there second strings look much stronger than ours.
yeah, but also dependent on the player - could be a relegation clause (quite likely given their prior campaigns) or simply just down tools if not sold. Let’s see mate but accept that we aren’t the only party with decisions to make
it depends. as of right now they have spent 10million in the market and have really not sold anyone of note. they have the parachute payments and will probably have a relegation clause to drop the wage bill. however they will also have a large drop in revenues to contend with so realistically there's only a short time before they really really will need to sell. it's only natural they want to get best value bit the second we walk away to another target they are then left selling something else or hoping someone else comes in later on.
you cannot even do it with city. you can only sort of do it with the madness at chelsea. it's about flexibility in the reserves. gomez covers rb and cb but has zero confidence left. he really has to do something to change his fate. tsimikas is a specialist lb. we have not yet seen much else from him. jota can play all across the front line. in theory nunez and gakpo might fight for 9 but both can play a few roles. Elliott can play rw and rcm and maybe lw too. this why I just think whoever we buy will be able to do the same.
Versality is a good attribute, but how many top players out there can or do play in more than one position?
OK, let's think about it. modric can play in several "roles" in midfield I would say depending on the state of the game. messi played right side or centre the con man played left wing right wing and striker. valverde for example played lb against us no? wijnaldum for us played 6, 8, lcm and played 10 and lw at Newcastle. coutinho played lw, lcm and 10. Gerrard I mentioned earlier. I'm sure there's lots of others. but there's great players like lewandowski who are specialists. in our case I just think klopp is looking at bajcetic as the man and doesn't want to block this future star so will want someone who can move. like Henderson has played 6, rcm and lcm for us. even cb and rb in emergencies.
The problem is out of the blue we are losing 2 important midfielders for only 50m which doesn't seem to get much these days . Think we should also be looking at the loan / out of contract list to bulk up the signings till next year .
if we are looking for such then we should do it quick cos in general they are unfit and will be useless to us for months
name a few, I've not looked. I find in general players not wanted by Spanish and Italian clubs are left aside and not properly trained.
like i've bothered looking at who is out of contract /available on loan the club should be able to pull this info easily ,though there is obvious doubts about thisafter last years debacle , and look for players who cover positions we are weak in and then check for suitability.
