there is no rhyme nor reason to the laws of cricket except they are created by toffs and as such are more important than common sense and are especially more important than anything as uncouth as winning.

you get 5 days.
you shall start at 11 and never start earlier
you shall take lunch
you shall take high tea
you hall have a certain number rof overs.

if it rains it rains because draws are far more gentlemanly than winning.

I just don’t understand why they can’t programme a 6th and 7th day invade if lost time

or play longer days on the days that are playable ?
I know there will be some sensible explanation but it is just bonkers

I expect the explanation will involve :emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash::emoticon-0164-cash:

So sensible to the money men , but we aren’t even their radar .

it's the same reason as why it's absolutely fine to play day and night tests under lights with a pinkish ball but under no circumstances can England turn on the floodlights during day and bowl wood.

the absolute ridiculousness of cricket.

we will look right and know fully it's a vital game but then we will have a spot of lunch

then warm up playing football or whatever.

absolutely no urgency.

and the stupid thing is if this game was the other way round England would be loving the delay.

there won't be any play imo now.

they seem to want to take 2 hours to get the thing ready and have cucumber sandwiches.

shame but I don't think necessarily those 50 or 60 runs we took were now cricital as we will never know ow if on thst day if England quicks would have torn into Australia to force a result in 4.

Looking at the met office forecast, it doesn't matter if they do want 2hours. Rain all day according to the weather map.
