Given he’s under contract at United not sure how that happens. Similar to how I read that rashford had turned down offers from abroad and the prem to sign new deal at United even though he was under contract at United and couldn’t talk to other clubs without United permission which I doubt they would have given. Mostly just PR from their agents/clubs to say look how wonderful our club/player is that they’re staying loyal etc
I thought I'd throw something in to diffuse the situation. You are after all supposed to be taking things easy
We certainly missed him but I’d argue that the beginning of our problems was after winning the CL, we failed to invest. Same again really after winning the league.
100% I love Sadio but it was the right time to let him go. He was still a good player but the signs of regression were clearly there.
all the people who don't leave in good terms get the same. sterling, suarez, mane, henderson, whoever.
Think there’s a difference in that prob had discussions with agent but also got the ok from the club that would be willing to enter negotiations. I know the days of it being against the rules of talking to players without club consent are almost thing of the past, but think clubs and agents will have generally had a chat to see if willing to enter into talks if personal terms can be agreed otherwise makes it pointless Vastly different from rashford and Bruno apparently turning Saudi offers down, when they didn’t actually have a choice as United hadn’t agreed to any kind of sale and likely weren’t going to
They could have turned down the opportunity of an offer; ie not even discussed it Or the club could have given them permission but they opted against it
The truth that dare not speak its name - I'd take £150m for Salah in a heartbeat. Yes, he's a fantastic athlete and a dedicated professional, but he'd worth that much to the Arabs and we could buy Colwill and possibly Gvardiol next season for that money if Red Bull are intent on not selling him. Be honest though, John Henry would probably just use it in his development of the Boston complex scheme.
So as we stand, ox, Keita, Milner gone, Hendo, Fabinho and Thiago probably going. That is one hell of a clear out in one go. The first three were finished anyway and the last three were definitely past their peak but now we need at least two quality midfielders and probably a defender or two if Trent moves to midfield. Expectations will have to be guarded. I don’t think any of expected this
