No. Didn’t even have a clue who he was and can’t see Anfield chiefs thinking 70m for him is good value either.
This presupposes that footballers have an automatic right to the most extravagant lifestyle they can get.
They get paid more than they should. No doubt about that. I would put the blame on the system rather than the players. That said, I don't blame them for wanting more money even if I think it's absurdly high what the poorest of PL players gets paid. They don't deserve as much as they get, but I don't blame them having aspirations for the best life possible.
This Actually thought they were referring to the Everton Doucoure when I first saw the rumour. £70m for a player that clearly didn't make that much of an impact at Palace (I'd say any player that's worth £70m would have been a huge standout at a club like Palace) Not a Chance in hell.
Yeah, I said earlier that I don't think the players are to blame, and if anybody gets the money it should be them rather than the other bloodsuckers leeching off it. My issue is that in order to fund their extravagant lifestyle (and that of the leeches) ordinary people are being priced out of it. It's not a victimless situation, so criticism is perfectly valid, imo.
in fairness, just the poty at palace. I can't wait for all these "little" clubs to get taken apart by Saudi. funnily not a single newcartle player is affected. Fulham could be relegated by the time the suaids are done
I'm fairly sure that's a favour to them and probably asked for by Newcastle. Transfers between same ownership clubs should be outright banned by fifa. Its as corrupt as ****
Yeah, and it's difficult to fix because if FA takes measures to limit how much money clubs can fleece, to make the game more approachable for every day people... The money and talent will all just flow to Spain. If UEFA does it, everyone follows the money to Saudi Arabia. Would need to be a FIFA wide thing... But you know if FIFA implemented global rules like that everyone would leave FIFA and set up their own organization and all the money and talent would leave FIFA to the new money grubbing entity.
