Very wild - Galashiels isn't a city. Right country though. The women used to meet there on their way home from doing the laundry in a nearby loch.
As far as I can tell the most northerly city there is Thurso, but i can't find any female connection,
That's it - Highland League side Clachnacudden. It's an an anglicised version of the Gaelic term Clach na Cudden, which means stone of the tubs. Women used to meet there on the way to and from doing their laundry in Loch Ness for a rest and chat - and would put their tubs on the stone. The stone is still there, outside of the club's Grant St stadium in Inverness Over to you.
