Our decisions define who we are. I understand that this is a very divisive subject and I don't want to get into a heated argument over it. I've expressed my view on all players going there. I wonder how many of those who are 'defending' his decision are as eager to defend city and Newcastle's football morality.
Lol 160k a week. And 50 years left to live approx... think about that. 1year wages and he was set up for life.
Combined that would be closer to £100m when you consider their wages. Obviously, any player purchased will need wages too
Anyway, I've talked about this far too much this evening, I've had my day so I'm leaving it there. (Probably the most active I've been on here in over a year!)
yes (and Milner) but as has been constantly said for some years we really need to improve the 2nd eleven and that meant last years starters were now back up so job done .However if fab & Henderson go they have to be replaced as one was a guaranteed starter and the other a regular
I think FSG has taken Liverpool as far as they can go.Many thanks to them, it's time for them to bail out.
They do indeed and I don't want to sound like I'm defending his decision. It is absolutely one I disagree with. But its just one of a trillion decisions he has made in his lifetime. It is a particularly jarring one, but my personal opinion is that it: doesn't by itself make him a "bad person.". Like you say, it's a divisive subject, and people are going to differ on it and have their own opinions. It's one of those things where there probably isn't a "correct opinion".
I mean, they took us to the top of the Premier League, Champions League, and rusty pot world club championship... Technically that's as far as anyone could take us.
The wages argument is so absurd I'm amazed rational people bring it up. In his last year Hendo has earned what most of us would take several lifetimes to match. If he can't set up himself and his family in a 15 year career then serious questions need to be asked. If he squanders it he deserves no sympathy, if he uses some of it for good purposes then he'd be a fool not to achieve a balance between philanthropy and personal future security. It's a common human trait that rich wants richer, and trying to justify it any other way is futile. All of us would like more money I'm sure, what divides us is what lengths we will go to to get it. As some have already said, I don't hate him - I'm just disappointed in him because I thought he was more principled than that. My fault I suppose.
There are a few of you "dissapointed or worse" with Hendo for taking the SA money. Do any of you have the same feeling about the club taking the money for player sales?
Let’s see what comes of the window first - FSG have acknowledthat they need to back JK, let’s see if they do
Well the club has no option bar blocking the players so they'd be critiqued for that as well and it'd be self harm to the squad morale. I presume you've got all your lines ready cos I cannot wait for the Qatar money and to spend it up to buy all the trophies.
