Well if you’re comparing Corbyn with Farage you are too far gone to reason with but yeah I welcome Farage’s chance for a day in court. Get the feeling it won’t happen.
He is a grifter and Brexiteer. A single market advocate too once apparently.
The support from the grifting community and regular everyday gammon of this cesspit nation will be of some comfort over this hardship.

I know I shouldn't be surprised by the postings of those of a left leaning persuasion about Farage, but rather than looking at him as a political mouthpiece, surely what Coutts have done to him is in fact an attack on his civil liberties, something I thought that those on the left were all for protecting......
Coutts produced a 44 page dossier on him, mentioned Russia more than 140 times and Brexit more than 200 times therein..... they also discussed this with a friendly BBC journalist who then tweeted about it..... isn't that a breach of data protection laws and privacy..... would anyone on here like their finances disclosed by their bank like that?
I'm not a fan of Farage in any shape or form but in this instance I believe that he has the right to highlight what banks are doing to ordinary citizens and his TV and radio shows give him the platform to do it....

Haven't been following the details of the story but if i was bleeting publicly that x was being unfair and shut me down then i would expect them to fire back and not just sit there and say nothing.
As for banks shutting down accounts, that something that happens all the time (as far as i am aware). I had my HSBC account shutdown by them for no apparant reason. **** all you can do about it but it is there right as long as it isn';t against one of the protected statuses
The current concern is over PEPs. Politically Exposed Persons who are being kicked out of a bank for reasons of political belief only.
If you were kicked out of HSBC (as opposed to having a specific account closed) then you should have been given a justifiable reason.
Again it’s not just a political belief as others will share those beliefs (he’d have others if the money was better) but what he does with it.
Have you considered making a career out of xenophobia? If not you should be fine.

Coutts do appear to have behaved badly. Not, I think, in closing Farage's account - something they are perfectly entitled to do - but in not being open about why they did it. Coutts is an elitist bank (something I inherently disapprove of but can do nothing about) and I can well understand why such an organisation wouldn't want to be associated with a rabble-rousing neo-fascist like Farage. People have their accounts closed every day - it's happened to me in the past - but very few have the media platform that Farage has to complain about it. If Coutts had closed the account of a Just Stop Oil protester because of their political affiliations, do you think we would have ever heard about it? Farage should accept the Natwest account he's been offered and shut the **** up.

No not really any reasons for my account closure. This was during the height when HSBC was reviewing accounts (back in 2014) when they just got a big fine for money laundering

Googled it and got this instead which is kind of interesting. Doubt foreign banking was much of a thing back then but I also doubt banks were as image-conscious.

Big difference. Old accounts can expire. The bank can then offer you alternative accounts to transfer into.
But being thrown out of a bank can, at least, affect your credit rating. Banks should always give a reason.
You were doing well, then missed the point. A bank could not kick out a customer for race or sexuality. Why should they be moral arbiters on political leaning? It will close done free speech because politicians, journalists and the like will be frightened to lose vital banking facilities if they speak out.
You make my point. The Germans had no reason to flee. The Afghans do, but there is no warzone and it's not the UK's doing as had been inferred. It's the Afghan's own government that's the problem
it wasn't an old account. It was my main account but they closed it and sent me a cheque. No idea if it affected my credit score as its nothing something i really check up on.
In other news, russia have struck ukranian grain. I suspect cost of goods will begin to increase again if it continues
