He’s a year younger than Fab though. If we’re moving fab on cos hitting an age where legs are going, buying a guy a year younger who has been out all season with an injury seems like a major short term risk
Has had a tough time of it, yes. I don't expect him to sign for us btw, but if he did I'd have very little doubt that he'd fit in well.
It's a hard pass from me on Phillips. If we are talking about age, I'd want a player at 28 to be at a much higher standard and whose experience (wise old head / dressing room motivation) replicates that of Milner. With the new young players coming in together with the young ones we are bringing through, you could argue we need an older one in but we need someone who's been there, done that, and that's not Phillips.
Who the **** wants phillips? Can't get in the city team, so why should we have him. He and rice get carried by Bellingham for England, both over rated
Fernando Luis from Benfica, sounds like his agent is pitching his hat in the ring. Probably a pinch of salt job
This role in particular imo benefits from height, if you’re covering roving full backs….which this role certainly will be doing, that extra inches of height. Fab is what? 6’2 versus Philips. It’s probably close to a 6 inch height difference. Will help to stop balls over the top out wide and knock downs/flick ons for teams looking to break. height not as important as pace though - not sure he’s that quick either….so no… looking for someone for next 5-8 years - that’s a no for philips actually, decent player but a no, no, no from me lol
we know Phillips is a busy player who will get about but he is not a 6 imo. City signed a player who will never replace rodri or even cover for him so its no shock pep has no use for him. so yeah he'd suit klopp but we already got Szoboszlai
they’re completely different players for different roles imo. I don’t want Phillips but do want a specialist.
Rodri is a no 6. Fabinho is a no 6. Phillips is not so was never playing ofr city. Macallister is a no 8. Gundogan was a no 6 or no 8 and left. PHillips imo is a no 8 Szoboszlai is more of an attacking type player we hear. be that a right midfielder or no 8 or no 10.. KDB. theres no way phillips gets in that role. Phillips for me = henderson style run about, busy player. he is simply not a no 6 and just would not work there. I didn't know why city signe dhim to replace fernandinho. It made zero sense. We need a proper stand there, break up play, cover space and be disciplined type of player. IMO rice is not even that but did the job a lot better than Phillips for england. IMO and just IMO if we are looking about the prem we should look no further than fulham for palhinha. yes hes old. 28 but he's tall (like someone wants )and he break up play well and he gets about. We'd be mad to go chase some one that the selling club won't want to sell to us anyway If henderson and Fabinho both go then IMO Palhinha and lavia would represent a senior and his apprentice for the no 6 role. we should still focus on bring bajcetic through but these old mercenaries are messing that plan up.

Indeed but some Utd fans think that because they squeezed in there last season all is good again, looking at that squad I think they've got a shock coming.
don't forget the won one cup and got beat in the europa so 3rd is a clear indication they are winning the lot. I've a lad in work telling me that onana is not in fact a dodgy madman who will be hilarious but has somehow "calmed down" the same man told me multiple times de gea was brilliant and won the golden gloves and i was stupid to even suggest he was one of man utd's biggest issues. If city fall apart under losing players and grealish's detox taking 6 months then it doesn't look like utd will be the ones taking advantage. Right now arsenal are red hot second favourites for the title.
A **** load of last minute comebacks too. Don't get me wrong, it's a great trait to have, but they were relying on it far too often before the final collapse came.
