Thanks again, and so far a good stream. Just imagine if our club did this - give the supporters a reason to make them feel the club cares about them. Weird idea, huh?
Really disappointed so far by Idah. Compared with the desire, energy and determination to make an impact shown by e.g. Placheta and Rowe, he has shown nothing. Had a good heading opportunity early on following a cross by Giannoulis (?) and either completely mis-timed his attempt on goal or chose the wrong option and headed back, losing possession in the process. He's also given the ball away several times with poor control or choice of pass.
I didn’t think he had been that bad Robbie, I thought he pressed intelligently, wasn’t far away from several blocks. Service to him wasn’t great, showed a couple of nice turns. But yes also lost the ball a couple of times with sloppy touches or passes. My preference would be for him to go out on loan, he needs consistent minutes before we decide what to do with him.
Have the players been taken off the pitch because of the rain or is there a lightning storm? Pathetic if it’s just for the rain
I think it's only Idah's second or third time out with only 30 minutes in the first so, like Sargent, he's behind the others.
You can mock all you like, Robbie, but almost every player regressed under Smith. You'll never admit it, but his appointment was an absolute disaster for the club. Not the worst Norwich manager in my lifetime, but the worst appointment. We paid for that last season, and judging by what we saw today we're still paying for it.
There's a danger of taking pre-season games too seriously. There's still 4 weeks to go before Hull and there are many positives out there. Duffy looks competent and composed in defence and paired well with Omobamidele in the first half. Stacey again looked good at RB as well as after moving to CB after Tomkinson's injury, though we missed his attacking runs. Replacing him, Fisher did well on the right as he dispossessed an opponent in our area and then produced our two best chances beating two defenders as he broke into their box and then placing a pass to Barnes in a dangerous position. Only 19, he's looked something special every time he's played so far. Once again Rowe and Placheta both looked pacy and dangerous in attack in the first half. That's 6 players we didn't have last season and we look better for them after little outlay and Mumba is like a new player as well. McLean and Núñez looked good in midfield and controlled the flow in the first half. Idah, Sargent and Barnes all had a quiet game as the service wasn't great, but that should change with more playing time together and Sara should also be available soon.
Anyone going Dutch tonight? If so, you must visit De Holle Bolle Boom in Dirkshorn. No idea what it is, but you have to love the name.
