Just heard of the passing of Chris Garland, former Wurzels striker. During the mid to late 60s Garland became the bête noir of all Grange Enders, we hated him! He was like a forerunner to people like Trundle, Tate and Scott Murray.

Always thought Garland was overrated but he still got a big money move to Chelsea.

    RIP ✝️

Yep. I can recall giving him some stick. Like you, I was surprised he got the big money move.
Sad to hear of his passing though.
    RIP

I popped over to the wurzels site last night to add to their thread on this. Makes you feel old when players you can recall playing are passing away in their mid 70’s.

Makes some of us feel very vulnerable.

So many people of fame in this age bracket have passed in recent months it causes you to regard yourself more closely than before. And I'm fitter than most people of my age.

RIP Chris <rose> in the 70's £100k was a lot of money! scored about once every 4 games .. was a perfect foil for JG and near end of his city career the Gforce was Galley Garland and Gow!
it is frightening when you reach past your your 3 score and 10 plus a few more lol .. that younger ones pass on!
