Big gaps in the dressing room init? Personalities will be missed for sure, Henderson was a good captain for you lot.
Yeah, milner is notoriously a hard trainer and hendo keeps the lads disciplined behind the scenes as did Milner. Two big influences in the dressing room. Could tell over time
Agreed those two have been the surprises so far. But imo Neves is nowhere near serious CL level. Massively overrated player who can pull off the spectacular but simply doesn't work hard enough for the team.
Meh. Is he any better than Leon Bailey? Pau Torres is a far more impressive signing and that one's actually happened.
The away game we had vs them was an absolute roasting. They're signing some top players too or at least looks like another is close. There's going to be a real scrap for top 6 ... Newcastle need to do more or the little flirt at the top will be just that.
Man City Man Urd Arsenal Chelsea Spurs Liverpool Newcastle if you chuck Villa in as well you are up to 8 and of them 6 are wedded to regular CL money so it could all get messy in next few years .
Thing is you will have chance to buy in if things go a bit pear shape, I can't see Klopp achieving much now, I think he's finished, and Spurs will continue to be a laughing stock by hanging on to Kane. Bod can only dream of Chelsea getting anywhere near top six, let alone top four. Aston Villa will be the team to watch outside of the other big clubs, although having said that, I can see another Arteta bottle job on the cards.
Winning a cup should be our priority anyway. We take this ****ing "european qualifiers" trophy way too serious. Sucks for Howe cos if we don't get 6th he will be sacked.
I'm reading Today that Newcastle are at their limit with regards to FFP or will be if they sign Barnes. It can't be far wrong because they've spent about 300 million in 18 months and brought about 15 million on player sales. I agree but I think we both know Newcastle won't win anything. How many finals can a club lose ? Think we're on a run of 5 successful cup final losses now.
It is actually quite strange but it's always mentioned by Newcastle and the media when they sign a player. Literally every interview with howe or club member they've always mentioned ffp but then they spend **** loads and don't sell anyone either.
The whole thing is a fooking joke, much like paying multi millions for players and their wages. Wonder which will be the first Prem club to completely implode as a result, football can't keep going the way it is going. Even the Saudi's want a piece of the action now, buying up players. It's different when you are in Amerrica and you are dealing with a population of 300 million people, but this isn't the NFL, it's why they were so desperate for the European Super League, to increase the revenue to the cream clubs, while binning off the rest. Although be interesting to know what the new BT (TNT) brand intentions are for the future. Simple fact is though, there aint enough revenue coming in to sustain the current model, they (SKY) are even branching into more EFL in 2024 to help fill the coffers.
FFP is seemingly unenforceable anyway and even if clubs get charged the process takes years and then the club can appeal.
So you become a billioanaires play thing until they get bored of you or strip you of all your assets. It's like my club, fans will enjoy the ride, but the penny will drop one day that the American owner aint making any money, so what's the plan, why would anyone invest in a club to incur financial loses - but fans aint got no brains these days, as long as there is a silver pot, they are happy. I get it's a long term project with objectives, but what if it fails, how big will the fall out be. I think Southend United have got 42 days left to sort their shhite out, otherwise their season might not be starting.
