Watched a good, if strange, stream. Sky Main Event but American adverts and Willow Live logo in top corner.

It was an excellent test, each innings one man managed to drag the team's score to something their bowlers could target. Marsh's 100 got Australia a competitive score in the first innings and then Stokes needed another special innings to drag England close, again Head managed to push Australia's lead and the Brooke got us close to be finished by Woakes and Wood.

Any changes to England for the next test? (assuming Stokes can force his body to complying) Next test Old Trafford.

I'm a big fan of Bairstow, but I have to agree with you Cromer. It seems his broken leg lay off has impaired his overall abilities. With Stokes inability to bowl positions 8-11 are filled by bowlers, Mo at 3 again?

I'd love to see Ben Foakes in for Bairstow - assuming he's fit.
JB failed with both bat and gloves, spilling several routine chances.
The weakest link in the series so far.
Yes I can't but help think you need to have your best keeper behind the stumps, it can save you 2-300 runs and Foakes isn't a bad batsman either

Ladies lose by 3 runs.
Aussie retain the Ashes.

One game left for England to draw the series

Good advert for Ladies cricket. <cheers>

Summary
  1. England set Australia 286 to win
  2. Sciver-Brunt scores second successive century (129 off 149 balls)
  3. England lose five wickets for 41 in last six overs
  4. Wyatt's 43 off 25 balls gives England late impetus
  5. Knight (67) & Sciver-Brunt put on 147 for third wicket
  6. Holders Australia retained Ashes in second ODI
  7. Victory would see England draw points-based Ashes & win ODI series outright
Good score after a poor start.

Summary
  1. England win means multi-format, points-based Ashes is drawn 8-8
  2. Holders Australia retain urn but suffer first ODI bilateral series loss since 2013
  3. Cross takes three wickets, including Perry and Mooney
  4. Sciver-Brunt scores second successive century (129 off 149 balls)
  5. Wyatt's 43 off 25 balls gives England late impetus
  6. Knight (67) & Sciver-Brunt put on 147 for third wicket
Well done to the Ladies.
Seems a bit unfair, that England win 4 games to Aussie 3.
Points allocation needs a rethink imo

I thought the same Bure. Winning the test gives a big advantage to the victor. But our ladies are on the up, and a few young bowlers waiting their chance, including the wonderfully named Issy Wong. OK, her name is Isabella.

Because we like chasing a total.
That's the new England way.

Years ago the old theory was, win the toss, inspect the wicket and the weather forecast. Look at the advantage of putting the opposition in with the weather advantage, and THEN BAT FIRST.
Those days have long gone.

Pretty even at the moment.
Pissing down here in Yarmouth, but nice in Manchester

Was just getting ready to go to bed and under fire Bairstow pulls off a stunning catch. May stay up for a bit longer now, nothing planned for tomorrow morning.
