Brook completely and utterly out of his depth at 3.

    edged and gone.

only shock was how he survived half the balls bolted by starc

Cummins then gets him and the guy who should have been at 3 is now out.

Well, either pace or movement. pace is always useful. spin can work if you have the runs to watch them hack at it and edge or miss while scoring.

anderson was great at taking the tail just by making it move.

pace and new balls are usually thr hardest thing to face.

    no review. clipped the pad

England just totally ignoring losing two wickets and going run a ball.

I reckon had England started Anderson and not Robinson they've have skittled this lot for 100. pitch is lively. the exactly pitch Anderson would have wanted.

root completely slowed down as the evening rolled in and light wasn't great. Bairstow barely stuck in there.

100% the best of the conditions now have to be used by england. they have to get themselves "in" and then score well.

    its a lot.

no shocked. theres serious quality in that austalian bowling

what we are actually seeing is what england should have got as a score but for crap fielding.

    Australia have dropped nothing.

We did fine with the ball in hand but the fielders let them down and the score actually was a great opening session and great closing session and a terrible in between where one guy stuck for them and we dropped stuff.

England needed the best players to stick so now its down to what can we get in hope.

Bairstow was the best man last season but the guy hasn't played and is just not up to speed. we've seen this test 1 and have not the balls to drop him and just taker it on the chin and bring him back in later on.

a few heroics and England have reduced the deficit. a 50 run deficit or so after the batting we have seen is a result.

over to you mark Wood. (once stokes is done with being a hero)

    231/9 v 263

    30 of a lead

stokes was the first drop of the aussie game and hes managed to punish them

    237 v 262

stokes holes out after whacking the first ball for 6 the second is caught.

frankly thats a great recovery from a disastrous position.

Done well to come back into this game but pretty poor going that after day and a half on a decent pitch been 20 wickets and we couldn’t score more than 250.

Stokes comes into his element batting with the tail. Just so dangerous once he has the freedom

its a shame he couldn't get 100 like their lad did but its given us a shot at them.

there can be absolutely no errors now with the hands and we must skittle through them to save the ashes.
