263 all out, the best batting team in the known universe, on a pitch that is better to bat on than Lords was, apparently. Wood does make a difference. DO NOT BREAK DOWN!
An excellent morning session, followed by a very poor afternoon session, followed by a sensational hour after tea. I'd take only two down at close.
He might or might not be be a cheat, but Carey's a fantastic 'keeper. The quality of wicket-keeping has been the single biggest difference between these teams so far.
The ebb and flow of these games is wonderful.......... despite the scoreline it's been a cracking series so far.......
Like others have said, catches win matches. We should've bowled them out for around 150-170. Brook shouldn't be batting at 3 either. If we don't somehow get parity or ahead after 5his innings then forget it. Still pretty sure there's alot of rain coming at the weekend, but we still need to get a lead just to pressurise them for once. If only Wood and Archer have been fit for an entire series, oh to dream. Wood will probably be unable to play the next match and Archer is related to Amos ! Can't believe we picked Robinson over Tongue, and not he's injured so a bowler down. Terrible decision
Only watched the first session. Wood was terrific. Bairstow is a liability as a keeper. Shame I missed Marsh's innings - highlights looked impressive though. Only disappointment I suppose is the booing of Steve Smith on his 100th test match. So much for the spirit of cricket - Disgraceful from the crowd.
Was Smith's (and Warner's) ball-tampering within the spirit of cricket? That's why he gets booed. Well, that and because he's so bleeding good.
Probably a bit of each Stroller but he paid a heavier price for the former than any other player caught doing similar. I would have thought that given the week of holier than thou spirit of cricket talk there may have been a different response. Maybe it's the times we live in. Personally I find it a bit distasteful.
Did they boo Atherton? Ali cheated in the first test by spraying drying spray on his finger. Not a peep anywhere - certainly no boos.
I've never been to an Ashes match in Australia (I still hope to), but I understand the Aussie crowds dish out a bit of stick to English players (!). The Aussie players in this series seem to take it in good part, I don't see why you should be offended on their behalf.
