Charging for appointments isn’t the answer, the whole point of a national health service is it’s available to everyone, even and most importantly the poor.
If you start charging for appointments you may as well just give up. The poorest already suffer worse health and lower life expectancy than the rich.
I agree cosmetic surgery shouldn’t be paid for, unless it’s mental health related.
To say all trans patients shouldn’t be dealt with is a bit of a sweeping statement in my view, they should be judged case by case as with any other condition.
I have to say I’m not aware of what you mean about 60 yr old blokes being asked if they’re pregnant so I’m unable to comment.,
it is a shame it’s got this bad, it’s a massive problem, not helped by 13 yrs of austerity, but not wholly created by it either. It does need a rethink and a big reorganisation,
The trouble is it would be expensive and no political party dares to take it on properly.
imo a cross party approach is needed along with senior members of the health profession.
