Pau Torres to Aston Villa. Wow. They're going to be a force this coming season. He could play for City, PSG or Bayern. No problem.
Pretty much every fanbase say the same things, but what about Modric, Van Der Vaart, Bale, Erikson, Son?
Yeah class signing. Surprising move but a great one for Villa if it goes through. Emery and Monchi ain’t ****ing about.
Apart from winning the 1991 fa cup with Lineker missing a penalty and having a goal wrong lynnhoug-0 ruled out for offside you make a great point
First three were over 10 years ago, Eriksen was 2013 and Son was signed in 2015. From 2008-2015 Spurs signed some really good players but since then it’s been mainly brutal expensive signings
So what you gonna do, not sign any players ever again? Rely solely on academy players? You just need to give a swift kick up the arse to whoever is in charge of your recruiting, or better still, replace them. Dont talk to me about gash signings! Especially when it comes to replacing strikers. Chelsea are the kings of ****e striker signings, with players who either stink the place out, get perenially injured, or in one case, end up being coke heads, look at Casiraghi, Sutton, Kezman, Mutu, Shevchenko, Torres, Morata, Lukaku. All for big money too. We've had a couple of gems in there over the years in Drogba and Costa, but our hit and miss score is weighted heavily in favour of "MISS" And look at the periods where we were dominant, 2004-2012 with Drogba, and 2014-2017 with Costa. Direct correlation there!
You made 2 signings in the summer actually though one i've never heard of and the other was **** in every sense PS Winks £10m and Coady £7.5m
A third choice back-up goalie ... and Faes after we'd sold Fofana ... Faes had a tough baptism for sure ... but he'd made the full Belgium team before we signed him and has stayed in it ... but you'll know much better than the Belgian coaches for sure For me, he reminds me of Soyuncu ... who had a calamitous first season before settling in and then being terrific, culminating in being a key part of the FA Cup winning team ...
