Has he got round to explaining now that those bloody Europeans have stopped taking our jobs why the unemployment rate remains high and the same people who could not get a job before remain unemployed even now? . In spite of the fact that most employers are suffering labour shortages. If he has I must have missed it.
Apparently the voting was suspect (online 'public' votes) and TRIC have deleted a tweet congratulating Farage on winning.
Apart from resignation have any of the senior management team at Thames Water or any of the others handpicked as being of the 'right sort' to run our utilities (and help themselves) repaid any of the lavish bonuses they awarded themselves over the last few years to reward their incompetence? Just asking. Clearly competence had nothing to do with the decision to appoint them. I wonder what did.
Not repaid, but I think a few of them did agree not to take any bonus this year because of the **** filling up the rivers. Severn Trent have just messaged us apologising that they have cut the water off so they can deal with the leak in the street that their website says they won’t be fixing until 8 July. Our water is still running. These ****wits are staggering.
My sympathies. At least you and I (and most of us on this Forum I assume) can voice our displeasure in the correct way. I doubt however that applies to all our citizens and it is just a matter of time before that anger boils over in the streets. But hey let's remember the good times under Boris. and then knicker dropper Liz. Who correctly analysed the problem and the answer. Give those who need it least a 5% tax cut. Even now I can hear mutterings that it's all the fault of Covid and 'Putin's war.' In case there is a temptation to forget that one salutary fact. The 4 weeks of Liz Truss was the catalyst that plunged us into the economic abyss we now live in.
How are "our" five pledges going? It seems to me that "we" are failing on every one. #Ready4Rishi2Go please log in to view this image 5
So Dorries, Rees-Mogg, Lord Goldsmith and Priti Patel all criticised for trying to influence the party gate enquiry ... Who would have guessed those names..
Amazingly there is still massive pressure from within the Tory party at all levels for tax cuts for the richest. Weird argument that Truss only got the presentation wrong. Surely now, after 40 years of Hayek/Friedman voodoo economics it’s pretty ****ing obvious that it doesn’t work unless your objective is to have a tiny group of people getting ever more obscenely rich and an exponentially growing deprived underclass until we have no option but to rise up and slaughter them in their homes. Water virtually gone now, no pressure at all. Two Severn Trent workmen leaning against a wall looking at thousands of gallons of water rising through the tarmac on the road. Can’t really blame them, the road obviously has to be closed for work to start and doubtless only God can authorise that, and he/she/it is having a lie in.
The problem with trickle down economics is in the ****ing name. It trickles down if it trickles down at all. When I studied Econ at school it’s one of the first things they taught with no critique that in the real world it doesn’t actually work. If you want to help poor people then giving money to rich people is clearly dumb.
Water seems to be back now, though Severn Trent say it isn’t…. Meanwhile both major political parties have promised that the triple lock on pensions will remain in place until at least the end of the decade. Although I will be a beneficiary of this (soonish) it’s clearly nuts when at the same time public sector workers are told they can only have puny pay rises because anything else would be ‘inflationary’. Of course the state pension is still not huge if it’s your only source of income, but, other than the obvious vote buying bribe it is, insuring one part of the population against inflation at the expense of others (taxpayers who actually pay for the pensions) can’t be right.
