Still a boring and predictable leftie Spent the 80s deriding Mrs Thatcher then moved to Australia and has barely been heard of since, until this latest and premeditated rant about Sunak which Kuenesberg didn’t even offer any opinion on, but she’s nearly as bad. Suggest he should disappear back up his own arse where he belongs
Not a fan then ? I listened to the Sunak interview, I wouldn’t have put it as strongly as BE did , but I could see where he was coming from, I admit he dies use extreme and colourful language but he certainly can’t be accused of flip flopping
It's actually a shame because stuff he wrote/co wrote, like the Young Ones and Blackadder I still watch and laugh at now. But as a person, nah !
I like people with conviction, passion, I have more time for then than those like some I could mention who pretend to have conviction, but really are self serving ( that’s how I perceive Boris, his convictions are just what he perceives is popular ) . I wish our politicians would say what they believe even if it’s unpopular.
It’s ALL politicians out of the running, they’re all as bad as one another, do we really know whether Boris was remain or Leave, I’m not sure he even knows himself
I'm off to see We Will Rock You in London this Thursday. Reviews to-date say it's pretty good. I also liked the Young Ones and Blackadder very much. As for Ben Elton's politics; I know nothing about them other than what is written in this thread. I didn't see the programme - I assume (from comments on here) that he is a Labour supporter. He, like everyone, has an opinion and is entitled to his views.
Honest politicians are hard to find, I'm sure they are there on all sides, I just wish they would surface for all of our sakes, a government of national unity not self glorification, there I go day dreaming again.
Getting back to Ben Elton, very intelligent guy, extreme leftle but I loved his brand of humour, it makes me laugh at him and sometimes with him, I regard my self as a middle of the road sort of bloke, leaning slightly to the right.
Anyone who wants to be PM isn’t fit to be PM. You have to be self centred, ambitious and driven, and to a degree a bit of a bar steward Boris just took it to the extreme, you have to bend the rules, but not blatantly break them, and definitely not be an habitual liar.
As the brilliant Billy Connolly once said, the desire to be a politician should prevent you from ever becoming one.
Have to say, I've enjoyed quite a few Ben Elton books but sadly his view/approach to politics is indicative of the way the country is headed... Shout loud, point fingers, use slogans/bracket your target somehow and create enough hatred to force people out/away. If you aren't FOR the same cause then you are clearly AGAINST the cause... No such thing as neutrality or being undecided. The man is a Corbyn type extremist who tries to point fingers and start fires/create hatred for anything that doesn't fit his world view whilst claiming to be on the side of the righteous. Just as dangerous as any right wing zealots with their swastikas and "pride" in their country...
It’s the same the world over Disagree with a far leftie and you are branded a bigot, a racist or a Nazi Or possibly all 3 Suggest he stays in Australia, who have become super woke and very left leaning, so it should suit him down to the ground
Watcha Brizz. We meet in an alien setting for a change My comment about Stark was purely about it being a good read. Of course, it's donkey's years old now. I sort of agree with you that too many celebs of all political persuasions, seem to use their celebrity to preach. YouTube us rife with it. Strange world.
I actually quite like him, he’s very funny as well. A tad extreme, but at least he has passion and strong beliefs. His strength is using language, for his comedy and to highlight his views, he is very articulate.
I only use YouTube to watch football and music videos, just as well by the sound of it. Social media in general seems to encourage people to be very angry.
Yep. Not many posters on YouTube that don't have an entrenched view one way or another. Endemic of worldwide politics I guess. But I know very little.
