It looks as though we're about to sign James Wilson, a CB who has just turned down a contract with Plymouth. Before Plymouth he was with Ipswich. Apparently he's likely to be the new skip if we sign him. He's been up at The Quarters over the past few days. Great signing. I think he played for the other side at some point, but I'm sure we can probably forgive him that one! UTG!
Deary me. I know that we're usually quite slow in the transfer market but this is tediously dull. It's only a week or so before the players return for pre-season and we've not signed anyone at all - nowhere near. I would've thought that the James Wilson deal might be done by now but nothing seems to have happened. No news on the South Stand either - there's a lot of work to do in the next 6-7 weeks.
We have officially signed James Wilson from Argyle on a two year contract. An experienced centre back is just what we need so welcome James. If anyone’s on Facebook take a look at the announcement video from the club - it’s hilarious, especially if you’re a fan of the sitcom Friday Night Dinner!
Great news about Luke Thomas. Do you think Connor Taylor might be another signing? Apparently we're also about to sign Jevani Brown. Great player, but he's got a court case hanging over his head. It's probably the only way We were going to get him, because some bigger clubs pulled out of signing him precisely because of the baggage. It's not a good look really.
If Jevani Brown comes with baggage which is assaulting one Lady and possibly another what sort of image does that portray for a club that wants to be a family club, not a good signing for me
It's official - we've signed Jevani Brown on a free for a two-year deal with an option for a third. Jevani Brown: Bristol Rovers sign forward on two-year deal - BBC Sport Welcome Jevani - let's hope you can put your legal problems behind you and produce your best for us on the pitch.
Wilson and Thomas are good signings. Very happy with them. Brown is a brilliant signing, if he had no issues. However, he has admitted to assaulting a woman by beating. Sorry but this doesn't sit right with me. Not at all.
Remember Wael said this after Barton was arrested/charged for assaulting his wife? Admitting assault by beating and we still sign him. Wael a hypocrite here? please log in to view this image
George Friend on trial at the Rovers, made 52 appearances for Birmingham in the Championship last season and prior to that he made 446 appearances for among other Middlesbrough, Doncaster, Wolves and Exeter as his permanent clubs. More information on Bristol Live
Lots of experience, especially at a higher level. My worry is his age. He will be 36 in October so I worry about pace/sharpness. His experience will be valuable to the rest of the defenders at the club and a leader too.
