more traffic eff ups from the incompetent tossers at the hull department of tranport fuqaducery with help from the highways department of ineptitude avoid myton bridge this weekend and for all weekends till the end of july (from 7pm each friday till 5pm on the monday) and overnight the other weekdays from 8pm to 6am july 21st. expect everything to get worse.
Not the council's road, and very probably not their decision either. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
As others have said, why not allow bus Lane use why it’s closed, and closing lanes for cyclists was always going to cause chaos at times like this
No chance, the council allow empty taxis to use those routes and for profit buses, there is no public transport anymore so **** bus lanes
Very few take any notice of the Brook Street access only rule, probably due to the car park exit at the Ferensway side, so it's difficult to police the rules. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
i'd forgotten it started this weekend and joined a road at a point that had no warning notice and had no other way off until i'd gone through the entire diversion, which involved about an hour of crawling. a warning notice in an appropriate place could gave saved me and many others a lot of time. i wasn't the only one. a warning notice in the right place would have been a huge help, but was evidently a step too far for whichever organisation should have put it there.
I agree, I enjoy Castros reminiscing about City, but I get the distinct impression a lot of people, cities, towns and clubs live rent free in his head… who gives a flying £$$ k who sells what regarding attendances, season ticket sales or away followings? We have what we have, the owner is trying to build. Our history has provided plenty of years of mediocrity. Onwards and upwards. You can only piss with the cock you’ve got.
Seems teams like Wednesday life rent free in people’s heads given the sneering at a better supported club. Maybe some will stop posting excited build ups to home games where even with low prices they are less than a number of teams in League 1?! Or because some fans on free trips swell away numbers claim we are massive. Someone even said that they thought Sunderland were supposed to be a big club as they only took 2,000 to Norwich and we had more that weekend.,Norwich only give 2,000 tickets, the amount they are obliged to, as they can sell all their home tickets. And they don’t have acres of segregation reducing numbers like we do. I think the owner deserves full crowds with the team playing in front of a raucous crowd. Unfortunately it won’t happen. We had the North Stand rep asking at the fans meeting if a singing section be accommodated in the NW corner. We don’t even have a full end, and a small one at that, behind the goal getting behind the team. Does he want those getting behind the team shoved away in the corner and those behind the goal sat down quietly like the rest of the ground(with the exception of one section in East Stand)? Some were even thinking we should have stricter stewarding. Don’t think Acun is going to see a Fenerbahce type atmosphere. Which is a shame.
It’s a fair point about public transport not being publicly owned. Every time road layouts are changed using public money to help buses, or money is spent on train infrastructure, it means that a few people should, if it was done properly, get richer as a result. That shouldn’t be the case. *obviously apart from the bus that takes me to City. Every effort should be made to ensure that runs more frequently and quickly.
This thread is called "And now for something completely different" not "And now for the same thing I'm always posting"
I was a bus driver before privatisation then I left, and we were asking the council why not have bus lanes like other cities, then Beverley Road got the go ahead around the time privatisation was being talked about, as soon as it happened bus lanes started to appear all over the City. Busses like taxis are not a public service, they are for profit only, there are more subsidies now for busses than there ever was when it was council run. Likewise why should wealthier people who can afford a private limo/taxi get priority over everyone else. **** bus lanes and **** taxis off from them
Must remember to count my blessings and remember what a wealthy person I am next time I get a taxi. Cities getting rid of trams, and trolley buses in .Hull as well, was a major mistake back in the 1960s. You only have to compare European cities with trams to see how better it is. And, they run when people want to use them until late at night. It would be prohibitively expensive to try and replace them now the way our cities are geared up for cars.
