Leicester have appointed Wish.com Arteta as their new manager. Enzo Maresca has spent a fair bit of time coaching at City and last failed as a manager for Parma. Lasted from May to November in 2021. Won 4 of his 14 matches, losing and drawing 5 each.
Ruben Neves pocketing the Saudi blood money It's one thing if a player is in Pension Mode, as most of the players headed over there this summer have been, but Neves has a good 3-4 years of top flight football at least in him
Hakim Ziyech is apparently close to doing the same. It's a sad state of affairs but I guess it does show who is playing for love of the game (and money), and who is doing it for money alone.
Ask any player about any other player and they will say the same. What do you expect them to say, Nah don't rate him
Obviously. It was more the fact that these two headlines are right next to each other that made me laugh.
But it does suit our northern biased medias agenda to ask a Man Utd player these questions framed in this manner more than it does to ask Kane for example.
New manager to be named imminently they said, so someone in the frame. Not sure what they are expecting, O'Neill seems to have had the support of the team.
Might be worth noting that the original article in The Scum doesn't say manager. The word is notably absent throughout. Boss could mean director or possibly even owner. It's suitably vague.
So, it turns out the PIF (Saudi Arabia and Newcastle's owners) and Clearlake Capital (majority owner of Chelsea) have an 'excellent relationship' with PIF investing billions into Clearlake in the past. Now Chelsea need to offload players to comply with FFP, I wonder who/where the majority of these sales are going to? Oh what's that? Koulibaly, Kante, Ziyech & Mendy all going to Saudi Arabia? Chelsea getting £100m in transfer fees + wages off the books for that lot? Yep, totally above board, nothing to see here. Honestly, I know this can be said for so many people and owners, but this makes a mockery of this whole 'fit and proper person test' the Premier League have. How exactly has this been allowed to happen? We're a playground for nation-states and billionaires to do whatever they want. It's just anti-competitive, corrupt and wrong in so many ways.
If all said players do as you have claimed, perhaps Nemesis will ensure that for any season that Kings Rd FC qualify for the CL, the Toon cannot qualify for the CL by any possible route.
It does look dodgy, but the Saudis do appear to be signing a lot of high-profile Muslim players. Chelsea just happen to own quite a lot of them. Koulibaly, Kante and Ziyech are all Muslims and I think Mendy is, but I can't be 100% sure. They've also been linked with Aubameyang and Lukaku, though. They're both Christians. Big names on big money who aren't wanted by Chelsea, but they fit your model better, for me. If they clear the lot out, then they'd be far healthier financially and FFP-wise. The other Chelsea story is Abramobitch blocking the use of his billions. Who didn't see that one coming?
I know you're joking, but I couldn't actually find anything concrete. His parents are supposedly "deeply religious" and they're from DR Congo. It's 95% Christian, so he probably is too.
