Pretty evenly poised. Australia prob build a bit of a lead unless we can get some quick wickets. Then comes down to how well we can bat in that 3rd innings. 100 behind and that declaration just puts massive pressure on the batsmen.

only 3 seamers so they releted on spin a lot due to the pitch. moeen, root and they even tossed the cherry to brooks to slow medium bowl a few overs

stokes was massively struggling for his form

they were all tired by the end. the drops and noball wicket cost massively.

Lots of questions going to be asked about the build up and the declaration if don’t win.

1 3 day test against Ireland, JB with barely any match practise since broken leg. Root sitting on bench in the ipl. See how the fitness is going into day 5 with the the heat in both senses on them.

I think root will be fine but bairstow is a big issue

It’s not just Bairstow as keeper, it’s the fact we have to get Moeen Ali out of retirement to play test cricket because we haven’t got any spinners, when our only one gets injured

Who ever decided a pitch like this is acceptable with Anderson, Robinson and Broad for England and wood asleep in the stand wants sacking.

it was quite a collapse under a few bouncers.

the first one to go seemed confused by the filed and didn't look ready for the ball and it went straight through the centurian.

After that is was bouncer and aussies not liking them

Difficult to understand why. Surely (don’t call me Shirley) the Aussies are used to them from their domestic cricket. Always generalize their pitches as being harder and, therefore, more bounce. What would Lillee and Thompson think.

they were tail enders and looking to score I expect. all worried about yorker then bouncer. but yeah it was poor enough.
