Think I heard the same about Minteh somewhere - but I guess if you have talent it takes a special kind of person to respect that and really graft every day to improve even if you know your good! Think Howe will batter it out of them. Have a feeling Gordon may be a bit like that - thought he was the next big thing but couldn't get in the team because he wasn't working hard enough - something he's admitted himself in terms of the fitness levels needed at NUFC now.

TBF Gordon was being coached by Lampard at the end when he's gone off the boil, Ancelotti brought him into the first team and Rafa had him as a starter in his 6 months there. Bit like Miggy, Joelinton, Longstaff etc - looked proper dross under Bruce for 2 years but beforehand Rafa was getting a tune out of Longstaff and Howe has worked wonders with all three.

Didn't really want Gordon as he was a diving, rat looking bastard but now he's ours I'm hoping a preseason under Howe can help him turn a new leaf and kick on

Might turn decent. But when ever I’ve watched a game he’s played in I’ve rarely noticed him do anything productive - other than the odd dive pretty anonymous.

Chelsea wanted him so that pretty much sums up how bad he is <whistle>

as you say may be able to get something out of him with bit of coaching
