Well, I was right about the pitch taking spin.

 

Organs last 3 wickets were with a fairly new ball and Dawson only had 5 overs.

 

If Organ's taking 6 wickets on day two the pitch is turning.

 

Yep it might be interesting if we can somehow get a 100 lead and our spinners bowling on the last day, a massive ask though, probably give it 1% the way we batted in the first innings

 

We may as well bat aggressively TBH with the short boundaries. I think that's the only possible chance we have.

 

Weatherley needs to dust off his T20 slog sweep.

 

Yes, certainly something was happening, poor old Mo Abbas went past the bat frequently and couldn't buy an edge plus a couple of dropped catches didn't help the cause.

Realistically that's probably as good a day as we could have hoped for. But thanks to yesterday, we're still right up against it. Tomorrow needs to be just as good as today.

 

Much better day. Knocked off over half the deficit with 9 wickets still standing. If we can get a lead of 150+ then you never know.

 

Let's hope Dawson's injury isn't too bad, i.e. he hasn't lost any teeth! At least he should be able to bat fine. We'll need to bat the vast majority of day 3 to stand any chance at all and then get Organ and Dawson on much earlier in Lancs 2nd innings.

I reckon Gubbins was just short of his ground in that run out appeal, but it would have been controversial again as Williams backed up into his way and they did collide. Not out was probably the best call overall, especially from our point of view.

 

Hmm, don't want Kent to lose any more wickets tonight. 350 is very chaseable for Surrey.

 

I think Middleton got a bit lucky there with that lbw shout! Good signs that the ball is spinning, as long as we can get at least 150 in front, of course.

 

I think Lancs will be wishing they had picked Parkinson round about now.

 

Gubbins can be annoyed about the lbw decision in the first innings but not that one.

 

Oh dear.

 

Well, Kent have done their bit. If Surrey chase down 501 all you can say is fairplay really.
