Good Luck <ok>

What did we think about Al Asifah yesterday then??? The new superstar of our sport?!? Old boy Gosden's quote that 'she could be very good' seems something of an understatement, methinks!!!

In the 16:15 at Southwell, a Class-5 Mares' Handicap Hurdle over an extended 2m4f, the Fame And Glory mare, Midnight Gold, may well give a decent account. Good to see Harry Cobden on board for the Neil Mulholland yard.

8/1 (Wm.Hill/Unibet) is the best price at time of writing. E/W probably the best option.

Very impressive, Sir Barney, won as she liked and I read that she was 'heavily eased' (bit of an odd way of putting it?) in the last 100-yards. Can't wait to see her NTO. <ok>

25th May 23 Debut Class 4 "Dwelt start, held up in rear, headway over 5f out, quickened to lead when shaken up over 1f out, soon clear, easily (tchd 1/2)" Won by 4¾l

11th Jun 2023 Listed "Dwelt start, midfield, smooth headway on outer from 3f out, led 2f out, soon drifted right but went clear, impressive (op 8/13)" Won by 6½l

Some progression that. The 8/15 on debut must have been an early Christmas present for some

Can't see any future entries but....

"
A trip to the Curragh and a step up in trip for the Irish fillies’ Classic may be her next landing spot, according to Shadwell’s racing manager Angus Gold.

He added: “It was nice. It was fabulous. We haven’t had time to discuss it yet, and we will talk to Sheikha Hissa (Shadwell owner), but a very obvious thing, if we want to be bold, we could talk about supplementing her for the Irish Oaks.

“Timing-wise, it was just a pity she had immaturity issues, her muscle enzymes were a bit high for a while, so they have just gone steady with her and typically taken their time.

“Everything about her, to me, she looks a mile-and-a-half filly from her action."

Timeform had this to say
By Timeform — published 12th June 2023

"We highlight the major changes to the Timeform ratings, including a striking performance from an exciting filly at Goodwood on Sunday.

The standout performance on a fairly low-key weekend of racing came at Goodwood on Sunday as Al Asifah (112P from 95p) ran out a most impressive winner of a listed event on just her second start. She was sent off at odds-on when making a winning debut last month and started a similar price again, looking a filly right out of the top drawer as she effortlessly moved into the lead around two furlongs out and quickly moved clear of her rivals without being subjected to much pressure.

Al Asifah won hard held by six and a half lengths and the manner of that victory means she will surely be fast tracked to the highest level. The Irish Oaks is a possibility, but she will need to be supplemented for that race, while the Nassau Stakes at Glorious Goodwood is another option. Either way, she is a filly to be very positive about next time whatever the class of race she turns up in."

PS 12/1 for the Arc but obviously would need to be supplemented. I would love to know what the Gosdens think/know about her chances relative to Francesco Clemente (100/1)
