Sunday 11.00 Closed westbound. Traffic back past Ferriby. I had top co0me into Willerby from Ferriby and over the top Raywell. Not traffic westbound post South Cave turn.
Ok.... who used to have a bottle "WEST'.... as I recall an orange coloured bottle... it was for those who didnt like BRUT..
Stuck under one of the bridges across the A63 apparently ... it was a scheduled movement, but who ever scheduled it didnt do their homework...
If what ive been told is true then I think they did to be fair, the bridge in question is slightly lower then others, so when loads of a certain size get to it, they have to stop on the suspension lowered on the trailer, they then pass under it, stop again and have the suspension raised again before they carry on ( that's what I've been told anyway. How true that is I don't actually know ) Noticed someone else posting something like the above on Hull lives report on it, so it's probably a load of rubbish haha
Well obviously they didn't, If they had done their homework they would have known that. Hard to believe a company moving abnormal loads wouldn't have known. Having said that I once had to drive a combine harvested over the humber bridge, The company had given the wrong dimensions and the bridge board wouldn't let me drive across with the other vehicles, only on a closed bridge with their official escort, good job I had plenty of cash on me to pay for the privilege.
I cant understand why they have to do move at around 10 on a Sunday in the summer. People going about doing what they have to etc. It's light from about 4am and light until 10pm and yet they choose to do it at what is essentially a peak time...
